Wife going into labor!

Post by Mori Chu »

Hi gang, wanted to let y'all know that my wife Mariana is going into labor for our baby right now. We'll have our first child, our daughter Eve, within a day or two! Pretty exciting. We got to the hospital recently and are getting all set up. Everything looks healthy and normal so far, so now we wait. Woohoo! I'll post a couple photos when I can.

On the Eve of her delivery, congrats!

Really happy for you three. One of the defining moments of my life was seeing my daughter look up directly into my eyes for the first time 10 seconds after she was born. It is a truly amazing, humbling, frightening, exhilarating experience.

Congrats, Marty. Don't be afraid to reach out to your many friends here who are parents. Mine are nearly 12 and 10 now. They are mostly still alive. :)

Thanks, all. Still no baby yet, but she's dilated about 5 cm, so things are moving along. Hopefully tonight (Fri) in the wee hours, else Sat sometime we'll get to meet our little girl!

I'm so sorry it's such a long labor. That is no fun for your wife.

Still waiting. Looooooong labor process. She's dilated to about 6cm but needs to get to 10cm. They are taking their time with it because they don't want to have to do a C-section unless absolutely necessary. It's taking longer because they have her on magnesium due to some blood pressure issues. So far baby is healthy. We expect that maybe today will be the day. Fingers crossed!

Either way, you'll be fine. My first was a very similar situation. Long labor but finally we had a C section. Hang in there!
