It seems impossible to find more than 2 people in mock auction draft rooms on Yahoo.

I noticed the same thing about the auction mock drafts, and I don't expect it to get much better. It's hard enough to get 10-14 people to participate in a real auction draft.

I felt this way too but then just did Football ones to get the hang of it and they were filling up in a hurry

I'm just registering myself for this year's league. Actually I think having two leagues, one auction one snake, is kinda cool. But I'll go with the flow.

Last year I got too busy and totally missed the draft... this year I will try to keep my act together and not do that again.

Glad that I logged in and saw that the games start around the 16th. I was still thinking end of October...

We really should get this figured out sooner than later if we're going the auction route. It really does require everyone participate in the draft.

Also this league is called the Vet league... did we ever have a Rookie league? Maybe we can do relegation like the European soccer leagues if there's enough people interested in this whole fantasy thing.

I never thought of it like that, just figured it meant the guys who been on the Forum for a while
I think it is highly unlikely there are enough numbers for your idea :)

The way is originally started is that the rookie leagues top 2 (or 4?) teams would move to the Vet league the next year, and the bottom 2 (or 4) teams from the Vet league would go down to the rookie league. But I never played in either so not sure if that actually happened.

That's how I remember it as well. I think a fair number of people (including myself) just lost interest in fantasy hoops and everything went into one league.

So, any idea how many players there will be this year?

I'll set it up when I get a chance. This weekend by the latest.

Thanks for the time you put into this Bone. Shall we get started on figuring out draft time sooner rather than later? Assuming it'll be the same 14x14 snake draft format that we've always gone with?

I'd like to suggest reducing the number of required Center eligible players from 2 to 1 in the starting line up.

It doesn't really make any sense to have 2 Center position slots with the least number of eligible players, but it's been the standard in Yahoo for as long as I can remember. We could add a Utility position or a Forward/Center position (if it's possible) to maintain the roster size.

I disagree. I think we should leave the settings the way we've had them for the last 15 years.

Doing something simply because the way it's been done for 15 years isn't a convincing argument. Can you provide any other reason to support your opinion?

Re centres, I think it's good to have one category that's hard to fill - makes the draft more tactical and you have to think more about each pick rather than just cross the next name off your list. So I'd vote to keep 2 centres
