Fair enough. I still project him in the 8-13 range right now.

He’s one of the quickest guards I’ve seen in awhile. He’ll be able to get to the rim almost anytime he wants. I haven’t spent a lot of time watching, how is he as a passer? That penetration ability could be really helpful in getting Ayton and booker good looks.

Anyone not have Zion #1? Barrett is good, but I just think Zion is on another level. He’s putting up 20/9/2.5 with 2 steals and 2 blocks and shooting 67 percent from the field. He can’t hit 3’s right now, 19%, but I don’t think that matters. It’s like they morphed Blake Griffin with Shawn Marion and put that in Julius Peppers body. Zion as a pass rusher or as a tight end would be absolutely terrifying.

Zion is my #1, because of his best fit with the Suns. I do have to say that Barrett is still probably the better player. Zion does have some holes in his game, but he's such a freak that what he provides would be perfect next to the rest of the Suns. I also love his attitude. Confident but still humble and by all accounts a great teammate.

I keep hearing Barrett is a special player. But those aren't exactly stellar shooting numbers. What's the scouting report on Barrett? Any comps to current/former NBA players?

I don’t know that there is an obvious comparison for him. He’s very good at attacking the rim. Long strides help him finish without elite athleticism. He’s just ok as a shooter. Maybe some similarities to Derozan. Barrett is further along as a playmaker though. Also, derozan was a worse shooter at this stage.

if you ignore the shooting stats, he really looks like a superstar on the court... kobe bryant level

48/36 is decent

Spending some time looking into some prospects today... nothing deep, but here’s my thoughts and some guys to watch:

Clear #1 - Zion Williamson

Great player who doesn’t quite fit here - RJ Barrett

Forwards to keep an eye on:
DeAndre Hunter, Cam Reddish, Bol Bol, Grant Williams, Brandon Clarke, Jaxson Hayes

Guards to keep an eye on:
Ja Morant, Jarrett Culver, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Coby White, Lugentz Dort
Thanks for the recommendations. I hadn't heard of Coby White, Lugentz Dort, Jarrett Culver, or Jackson Hayes. I've watched Gonzaga for Rui Hachimura and haven't paid attention to Clarke; I will now.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

Brandon Clarke had the block of the year a couple of weeks back against Tennessee. His name is forever etched in my brain now.
Jones and Vogel out, Lue or Lee in, draft Grant Nelson or Tyler Kolek.

Looking forward to that one, Split.

Did anyone see the Ja Morant highlights from the other day? At first it's all, ho hum he's dominating a bunch of scrubs from Evansville. But watch the block at 2min 19seconds. It is without a doubt NBA quality athleticism. What's weird is he has another one in the 2nd half that was almost as good.

Go Suns!

Ya, he’s a special athlete. Very quick and skilled ball handler too.

You just Carey-ed me.

Funny enough, when I posted that link (and said he was going top-5) it was that block that stood out to me more than anything else. Ridiculous.

I think if we had to pick tomorrow, and our pick was #3 or below, I think Morant would be my current choice.

You’re assuming Zion and RJ go 1-2?

I don't really know enough about anyone yet. I thought Culver looked a little overmatched last night. 9-21 from the field (taking 3X as many shots as everyone else) with lots of turnovers.

Yup. I think those might be the only two I would take over Morant right now. But I honestly haven't really looked at things. Just going off the games I've seen.

Right now I’m:

1. Draft Zion
2. Trade Back and draft one of De’Andre Hunter, Brandon Clarke, Ja Morant, Nickiel Alexander-Walker
3. Draft Bol Bol

*Morant may move up and make it hard to trade back and still draft him.
