I was wrong about Oubre, and I couldn’t be any happier about it.

You guys remember when we used to start Canaan, Ryno, and Ariza?

Best game of the season. We held up start to finish and it was a great team effort. Oubre had the high score but everyone who played had an impact. If we can incorporate Booker into this kind of play rather than asking him to do everything, we may be onto somehing.
If he can stay healthy for more than 5 games...
Go Suns!

15 assists, 3 turnovers from the point guards tonight.
Melton with 10 assists and 4 steals.
Melton looks like he could develop a shot. Just seems to lack confidence more than anything. Nice to see him getting the assists, as I think that's a harder part of the game to develop.

Great win. I didn’t see any of it but was pleasantly surprised and have enjoyed reading through this thread. This should give the young guys some real confidence for the next part of the season.

Melton is ok as a spot up shooter from 3. His next offensive development should be a 15 foot pull up and a floater in the lane. Would make his pick and roll play more effective.

Agreed. He's pretty nifty at hitting our bigs in the lane and in tight spaces but he needs to be a threat offensively. I'm not overly concerned about his shot because his form doesn't look bad. I think he's 20 years old and just needs reps to get better. I'd also like to see him really attack the rim with his length and quickness just to keep teams off balance because our ballhandlers are almost always looking for the pass to the big popping out or throw the lob over the top. I don't see a lot of Booker, Jackson or Melton attacking hard to the rim. Okobo's actually got that nose for the basket off the dribble.

Cool and not so surprising stat about Melton, he has a steal pct. of 3.8%. Westbrook is the league leader at 3.3%, so once melton qualifies, he’d be leading the league by a wide margin.

It would actually be the highest % for the last 4 years and 14 of the last 20. Chris Paul and Ricky Rubio are the only active players to have a higher single season steal %

Yes, this pretty much means a steal is “worth” as much as nine points. To put it more precisely: A marginal steal is weighted nine times more heavily when predicting a player’s impact than a marginal point.6
For example, a player who averages 16 points and two steals per game is predicted (assuming all else is equal) to have a similar impact on his team’s success as one who averages 25 points but only one steal. If these players were on different teams and were both injured at the same time, we would expect their teams to have similar decreases in performance (on average).

I was looking at the box score for the game and noticed that Crawford didn't play, is he still injured?

They reported he had a family issue. He arrived late to the game and sat in street clothes

just got done watching the replay online

Mikal had two dribble drives early and I keep paying attention to that part of his game. I feel he has a chance to be more than just a shooter standing in the corner waiting to be setup by someone else. His handle seems solid to me and he's so long just needs to strengthen to absorb the bumps
I like the back door wrinkle I'm seeing recently that resulted in some alleys for Oubre n Josh
I know early in the season Mori was probably the only one who would be saying why not play Daniels and I think he has been quite the pro this season. He's had like what 20+ DNPs but he always seems engaged on the bench, when he does actually play he's been hustling and still knocking down shots so credit to him

I thought Melton had quite the game and was actually surprised when I checked the box score to see he missed all of his shots.
Oubre like Richaun has me 2/2 on guys who have helped me in fantasy and now doing their thing for my team 8-)

Daniels is a really good shooter. I never understood why we didn't play him more. Good to see him have a few good games lately.

He didn’t play because he’s a small guard that didn’t create for others and couldn’t defend. It appears he worked on the defense and while I wouldn’t call him a positive defender, he’s good enough that it outweighs his lack of playmaking. He doesn’t need to have regular rotation minutes, but if some units are struggling to shoot/score, that’s when Daniels becomes very useful.

I see Daniels as an Eddie House type. He's one of the purest shooters in the league IMO but with our depth on the wing and his lack of versatility it seems he's odd man out. On those MikeD 7SOL teams with a 7man rotation? He'd prob get some run as a heat check. Just doesn't seem to be our style these days.

Melton and Bridges are the top 2 NBA rookies in steals per game!

If you want an Eddie House type scorer, I think we look to a guy like Marcus Howard from Marquette.
