Game Day: Jazz (47-30) @ Suns (18-60), Wed 4/3/19

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ
TV: FSAZ, NBALP

Our nemesis, the Jazz come to town. Prepare yourselves. It may not be pretty. Jazz have won 6 straight. At least Ayton won't need to worry about Gobert tonight.

Go Suns!!!

I was curious why you describe them as our nemesis, considering we are awful and lose more than 3 out of 4 games on the season. So that made me look at every team that has swept us (so far) this season. Wow, it was a lot of teams. 14. Since we can't play ourselves, that means we play 29 other teams, and half didn't lose a single game to us all year.

Then I assumed it was because not only have the Jazz beat us every time we have played them, they have the highest average margin of victory over us (beat us by an average of 26 points per game). But with as awful as we are, I think we could probably list all of these teams as our nemesis.

Code: Select all

Team Margin
UTA 26.0
IND 19.5
DET 15.5
BRK 15.0
POR 14.3
LAC 14.3
CHO 13.0
OKC 12.5
CHI 11.5
ATL 7.0
HOU 7.0
TOR 5.5
PHI 5.0
WAS 3.0

25 + point loss tonight is what I expect.

But I am a happy camper anyway, thanks to Phoenix...

Wow, I did it without looking at any stats. Just from memory of getting beat badly by them time in and time out. But I would have picked Portland 2nd.

It took me half the trailer before I figured out how Phoenix entered into it. :P I was looking at the city and I was thinking, that's not Phoenix.

Unfortunately not. He rolled his ankle and is out for the rest of the game.

Suns were cooking too before the injury. It’s unfortunate. Still, only down 4 going into the 2nd half. Okobo has shown some life.

It was not pretty. Looked like it could be a severe high-ankle sprain.

If there was any doubt why Mcdonough was fired, it's clearly picking Bender. I bet there are at least 10-12 g-league players that are better than him.

Gum-chewing Bender just threw down an ally-oop on a Jazz player’s head.

Suns will need to win their last three in order to match last year's record.

Not likely.

Jimmer does not look like an NBA player. He's just so small out there. This is a weird thing to say, but he's got the tiniest strides I've ever seen. It's like the opposite of Giannis. Where Giannis can take 3 steps from halfcourt to the rim, Jimmer looks like a cartoon character taking a hundred steps between the 3 point line and the free throw line.

After Booker got hurt i completely lost interest. Other than Okobo hitting some 3s and some hustle plays from Bridges and Holmes the game was tough to watch. Did anyone notice what kind of BS calls Mitchell gets? Does Booker get those calls too?
