That's a shame. The Morris Twins are nothing but class. I hope this doesn't change the perception on them.
Good point. It would be a real downer if after such perfect behavior thus far, this one mistake would ruin their stellar reputations.
I would love to see the Spurs get left at the altar so to speak.

I think we did it so we could add Saric and Baynes and still have the cap space to go out and sign Rubio.
I believe we still could have had the cap space by dumping Okobo and renouncing Oubre. It’s gonna look really bad if we lose Oubre and could have still had Warren.
We want to keep Oubre, I’d much rather give up 32 to dump warren than lose Oubre for nothing.

I’m also not worried in the least about Oubre. He’ll sign at some point.
And then be unhappy the rest of his time with the team...like Bledsoe? I don't like the effects of these summer-long standoffs.
Maybe we should wait until a summer long standoff actually happens. It’s July 9th

I wouldn't. I don't like when players renege on agreements. The Spurs made plans under the assumption that they were getting Morris, and now he's going back on his word. Not cool.

I think that's a really good deal for Jones; he's a solid player.

I like that Jones contract a lot. I'd personally rather have Rubio for this Suns team.

Interesting that 3 PGs in the “too good to be backups/not quite good enough to be full time starters” (Sato/Tyus/Delon) got basically the exact same deal.

The exception is Cory Joseph, who should buy his agent a nice gift. He’s the worst of the bunch and got $3-4m more than the others.

Wonder what the thunder do with Chris Paul now.

Not sure how it will work for rockets, but Westbrook has more left than Paul. Still, the 2 ridiculously high usage players on the same team.

Oklahoma City's 1st round picks over the next 7 years -

2020 - (0, 1 or 2) - OKC [conditionally to PHI, protected top 20, then 2nd round picks in 2022 & 2023], DEN [protected top 10 2020-22, then 2nd round picks in 2023 & 2024]
2021 - (1) - OKC, MIA [can swap picks with HOU]
2022 - (1 or 2)- OKC [conditionally to ATL, protected top 14, then 2nd round picks in 2024 & 2025], LAC
2023 - (1 or 2) - OKC [can swap picks with LAC]. MIA [protected top 14 2023-25, unprotected in 2026]
2024 - (3) - OKC, LAC, HOU
2025 - (1) - OKC [can swap picks with LAC or HOU]
2026 - (3) - OKC, LAC, HOU

So they could have anywhere between 10 and 14 1st round picks in the next 7 drafts.

They added 8 1st round picks in the last week...that’s crazy. Real curious to see how they use them.

with that many swings at the fence, you could probably just go with a consensus pick each time and do well. the problem is they are in OKC and nobody wants to live there. I think it is probably the least desirable NBA city.

If OKC doesn't have a trade lined up for Paul I don't know what they're going to do with him the next 3 years.

Yeah, but at least SLC is pretty. And a lot closer to LA, where nearly everyone goes on breaks/off-season. I am not sure what redeeming quality OKC has, especially for 20-something millionaire people of color.

Tank. He could be the "veteran leadership."

Its really a terrible problem for the league.

Teams like Utah, Toronto, Milwaukee, Denver, Detroit etc are never going to be free agent destinations. They have to draft or either trade for talent and hope their best talent doesnt leave (they always do).

Then theres teams in LA and NY who are allowed to be terrible organizations because they know they just have to clear cap space to sign talent when it becomes available.

Lets look at the following teams. Who is the best free agent any of these teams have gotten, ever:

Denver
Portland
OKC
Sacramento
Minnesota
Memphis
New Orleans
Milwaukee
Toronto
Philadelphia
Indiana
Detroit
Charlotte
Washington
Cleveland (not counting Lebron).

Thats 15 teams. Half the league. The best players I can think of are McDyess (to Denver) and Chauncey Billups (although Billups was a journeyman point guard when Detroit signed him).

To put that in perspective, in just the last two summers LA and NY landed Lebron James, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

They couldnt keep Gordon Hayward.
