NBA Summer League

Post by In2ition »

Watching some summer league action right now. Saw the Heat kill the Lakers, where Tyler Herro shot very well from 3.

Wasn't Kyle Guy acquired in a draft night trade by the Kings? How does he get to play already? I thought those guys had to wait until the 6th.

Right. My understanding is that Cam and Jerome are going to miss our first SL game because of that.

Only the picks who were acquired in deals that don't involve players can play right away.

In Guy's case he was acquired for the rights to some Euro so it's basically a pick swap thus allowing him to play.
Go Suns!

Bulls first play is White throwing an ally-oop to Gafford. He would've been fun to watch for us.

NAW is balling. New Orleans is going to be stacked.

It wasn't an ideal pairing, but part of me is still liking the idea of pairing him with Booker.

I saw that...I keep wondering if we could have taken NAW at 11 and maybe still got Cam at 24.

I like Herro, but I think he's going to struggle to contribute anything more than spot up shooting.

He'll likely do that at a very high level, but I won't expect him to be better than average as a defender or playmaker.

I see another Kyle Korver or Rip Hamilton.

LOL. Those announcers were shitting all over him. The more vocal guy was a bit much and clearly doesn't like Allen.

He's got a little Booker in him. He's pretty good off the dribble and has some nice passing instincts.

I was watching our game against the Grizz, saw Allen and was thinking about his past incidents at Duke and how he's kept it together since being in the league. Guess that's out the window now.

The stuff at Duke was somewhat disturbing to see, especially the meltdown on the bench, but he had all those tripping/kicking incidents too. Whether it was an anger issue or maturity issue I don't know. The first incident on the screen by Williams looked like frustration...maybe Williams went a little high with his arms and Allen just pushed back and held his ground to send a message but the 2nd one was clear retaliation. Looked like he started out with a closed fist but opened up his hand as he was swiping for the ball. Not sure but when you already have that kind of reputation, people will assume the worst.
