Remainder of Season Wish List

Post by Danimal »

A place to list what you want or don’t want to see the rest of the season.

Wants:
- start looking at new training staff for next year
- run the offense through Ayton more. We need to make up for lost time
-At some point you have to decide which of our backup Pgs are worth keeping if any. Really want to see if Jerome can give a meaningful contribution. If not then sign someone like a trey Burke who may be able to contribute to see how the bench looks with another scorer.
- it won’t happen but I’d be interest to see what Oubre looks like off the bench. Not a knock on him, our bench just really needs a scoring injection.
- we really need bridges to develop his offensive game. I hope he gets opportunities to do this. We need To asses whether he is a core piece or just a role player/ trade bait.

Don’t want:
Please no tanking. But if someone is injured, please rest them and don’t run them into the ground so the injury lingers forever

This is a good topic, Danimal. Thanks for getting it started.

Wants:
  • Mikal Bridges to hit 3s consistently
  • Devin Booker to become an accurate, volume 3-point shooter
  • Stick with Ty Jerome in the rotation; find out what we have in him
  • Solid play from Jonah Bolden
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

I agree: good topic. To your list I would add:
  • More big games from Ayton
  • Cam Johnson, healthy and productive

I don’t want Book to model himself after Harden with high volume 3s. It’s boring af. He just needs more supportive players. I guess I would like to see him get into rhythm easier. He’s still young, in two years we will see him turn another corner.

For this year my wish is to see the Suns get healthy for more than one game.

For next year my wish is for a couple of better power forwards.

Win two close games against two good teams. That's about it.

Win 8 more games while continuing to improve going into next season. Next season we must make the playoffs.

I really want to see a lot of minutes for Cam the rest of the season. He's been one of my favorite players to watch all season long. His shooting is exceptional and he just has a toughness about him that I like. Loved that dunk he threw down a few games back. I think he's a keeper.

A) 40% over the last 20 games is pretty consistent. I assume you mean keep that up for the rest of the season (and maybe take more 3s/game)?

B) Over the last 20 games, Devin is at 35% on 6 3PA/G. Are you thinking he needs to be in the +37-38% range and take 8-10/game? Just curious what high volume and accurate are for you here.

I should have said 8 or more. A minimum of 8 is for selfish reasons.

Play as a team not individuals. Appropriately give minutes to those who follow.

Ayton to continue his steady improvement. Less jumpers, more baskets in the paint and please attempt a few 3s.

Health.
