Nuggs without Jerami Grant these days (who's tearing it up in Detroit on 23 and 6 for the season, up from 12 and 3.5 the season before) so that's in our favour.
I thought the acquisition was one of the worse of the offseason, but so far, he has lived up to the contract. It's early though.
The numbers for Grant look good. But I had heard that he was getting those numbers by ballhogging and chucking. Can anybody confirm or refute? I read that he was messing up the offensive flow in Detroit and causing them not to play well.
24 points tonight on 9-24 shooting.

Are we not stating the most obvious thing right now as to not jinx it?

General Comments

Excellent
- Paul icing the game with a late bucket and penalty FT's
- Ayton's defence. Actually add efficient scoring and passing as well, so his whole game iow
- Galloway on fire. Has one job to heat up quickly and absolutely did it tonight

Good
- Booker hit a big 3 latish in the 4Q and scored efficiently for the game (just don't mention the TO's)
- Bridges and Johnson; Bridges should have had 2 blocks credited, both incorrectly called goal tends, Cam 3/8 on 3's
- The whole bench; all our starters had a negative +/-, all the bench were positive

Bad
- Booker's FT's. Only shot 2 and missed one of them. He's now sub .700 for the season

Awful
- Booker's turnovers. 8 in total, 4 in the last Q and it would have been 5 had whoever was guarding him not given it straight back
- 5 straight team TO's to end the 3Q. We were up 16 or 17 and ended up going in to the last only 9 up

NOW can I say it, INF? This is why you go out and get a Chris Paul.

They force fed Ayton and he did alright. Denver tried to get him in foul trouble like every other team has lately and weren’t that successful. He responded well and had some great defensive stops without fouling and hit some shots. The most active game for him so far this season imo.

I’m not worried about Booker. If he hasn’t proven himself by now he never will. I just chalk his play lately up to adjusting to a new role and situation. He has had to evolve his game a lot over the years and it always just makes him better in the end. Having to be point Booker in the early years wasn’t going to win them a Championship but, it did make him a better playmaker. With all these defenders and shooters on the team Booker has concentrated more on defense lately and being an all around player.

5 and 1

Something right is happening. I think they are a real good offensive and defensive team. They certainly have their weaknesses like everyone else. Their strengths are formidable. I didn’t like the lapse after Jokic got his fifth foul. They seemed to relax and Denver went on their run. Now we have Paul and Booker to close games. We all gave them a slim chance of winning before the tipoff and yet they did.

Way to start the season!

Bridges and Cam are so similar. We keep wondering which one will excel the most. They are both kicking ass!

I kind of like having Booker and Paul play slightly in a reserve mode and trying to get the other guys going before looking to score much. When the other team goes on a roll to close the game, Booker and Paul have gas in the tank to finish them off.

Paul giving Campazzo a nice education
That was fun. The rookie didn’t see any more game action after he was toyed with like a cat playing with a dead mouse.

Yeah not worried about Booker - new role, new team mates, start of the season, swings and roundabouts

Strongest post move I’ve ever seen Frank make. Good for him
Frank was solid all-around tonight. I appreciate him on nights like tonight. Turns out that was a good pick up for us thus far.

This isn’t the ideal form of Ayton, but this is a valuable form of Ayton. Playing great D and solid on offense. I’d take this Ayton every night.
I had very similar thoughts while watching the game tonight. I said to myself, “You know what, if DA wants to keep laying it in every time and play like tonight, I’m fine with it.”

Be my guest, 'bone. I don't think we're in the end zone yet, but I won't stand in the way of you celebrating Coach Paul. He came up big tonight.
