Bite your tongue.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:39 amThe front office at the time should have had ALL of the info to make the right decision. PEDs or not. Psychological profile. Yet, they still chose him over Doncic. I have no doubt it will end up very similar to Bowie vs Jordan back in the day when all is said and done. But, not quite as drastic on both sides. Ayton will be better than Bowie and Dragic won't be as good as Jordan. It will be closer to the middle by a bit but still...Charlie Smithy! wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:29 amMan, so not only did we take the wrong guy at number one, but we also got straight-up bamboozled as well.
I assume that someday I will come to a proper acceptance of this ... someday

Yeah, how does it feel to know you could have had either and went with Ayton? It will take a lot to recover from that poor selection. Any of the top 5 besides Ayton likely would have been a better pick.

Probably, but the injury has made it hard to tell. I wouldn't be surprised if Bagley has a better overall career.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:20 amNot sure about Bagley...Ayton is better than him.

if Sarver wanted Ayton, that's all there is to it.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:39 amThe front office at the time should have had ALL of the info to make the right decision. PEDs or not. I thought it was McD that was so set on Ayton.ShelC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:26 amif Sarver wanted Ayton, that's all there is to it.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:39 amThe front office at the time should have had ALL of the info to make the right decision. That's my understanding. On national TV, TNT, versus Grizz.

Holmes and it’s not close for me. I don’t know why we ever let him go.
Re: Suns News: Week 4 1/11-1/117
same. not even close.

I'd unfollow him for just putting Ariza on the list if I followed him in the first place.

Holmes can't defend. He is a good shotblocker, but his man defense is pretty bad. Very productive overall though.
I'd probably take Melton.

None of them

https://arizonasports.com/story/2506488 ... rt-season/Ayton’s been good as a defender and great as a rebounder, but the lack of offensive impact is evident and drastically changes the type of player he is.
“He’s been uneven,” Suns general manager James Jones said Wednesday on Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo. “He knows that. Defensively, he’s been reliable … offensively, he’s been uneven. We need him to be consistent offensively. We need him to look to bolster what we’re doing in the paint. We need more paint touches, more free throws, more easy buckets. And he can do that for us. He hasn’t been doing it at the level at which we expect, that he expects, but that’s a focus for us and him going forward.”

The same thing everyone has been saying everywhere. Good to know Ayton knows it and is being reminded of it. My grandmother used to say “You can’t get blood from a turnip”. I’m not sure why they say it other than to mean you can’t make it into something it’s not. I keep hoping Ayton gets it eventually. Maybe she was right.

I didn't have "Nodack compares Ayton to a turnip" on my bingo card.Nodack wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 1:50 amThe same thing everyone has been saying everywhere.
