I mean I hope not. There’s an empty roster spot that I think has to be filled eventually per rule. Have some minor assets, this years pick I think, I wouldn’t be sad if they moved Jaylen Smith for something important.Superbone wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 11:05 pmYes, it was a blast to watch as the Suns methodically took them out in the 4th quarter. You could tell the Blazers really wanted this one but the Suns wouldn’t have it. Another professional win.
I don’t know if it’s just talk but according to Jones, we’re staying pat. I guess we’ll see.

I don't think you have to fill all 15 spots. I think 14 is the threshold...?djy2j wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 12:00 amI mean I hope not. Great win last night! Felt a bit like a Spurs-type of game from us, hanging around down 8-10 points but keeping within striking distance and then by the middle of the 4th we're up the 8-10 pts and closing it out. Just a nice steadiness from the team, sticking with the offense and tightening up the defense until the Blazers started missing a few.
Said it earlier in the thread but it felt like we played a lot faster, looking to push the ball up court, get quicker shots and hit them in transition. A lot more fun to watch than watching us walk the ball up while the defense gets set. I think CP looks more comfortable within the quicker offense, passing and then cutting or screening away rather than being so ball dominant.
Jae, Payne and Dario were huge tonight. Dario took minutes from DA which will be interesting to watch for the rest of the season. DA just didn't have it, was getting bullied by Kanter, and seemed a step slow. Wonder if Monty's at the point where he's past hurting someone's feelings and going with guys who put us in the best position to win games the rest of the season. We can't "lose" DA, but we also can't risk losing games just to get him his minutes. And it's time he learns to turn it on and keep it on or he's gonna end up watching the game from the bench.
Payne gave us good minutes on both ends, hitting 3s and attacking while playing some solid defense. Jae was all over the place guarding Lillard and then banging with Melo. Had some big 3s for us plus a nice pass from the high post to a cutting Bridges I think?
Thought Nader gave some good minutes as well with some chippiness, defense and knocked down a 3 off a nice pass from Dario.
Unsung hero might be Bridges, who had a quiet 18 on 8-10 and his usual crazy defense all over the court.

I didn’t watch last night, but sounds like another dud for DA...I’ll try to stop mentioning it, but I’d really just trade him now. It’s clearly selling short, but give me Nance, McGee and a protected 1st and I’ll take it. At this point we’ll be closing games in the playoffs with Saric anyways.

Yea Frank with zero impact but I not gonna give him a hard time, will always choose to remember his streak of solid games that were timely
The more long term situation obviously is DA and I thought the same thing Shel while he got benched again that the stakes in our games gonna keep going up and Monty already seems to be not wasting time waiting to see if he will be effective during $$ time
Think it's fairly clear he trusts Dario more so is something to watch

Oh and man shout out to Payne
It was good to see him ball out against the Warriors but we had to acknowledge it was their B squad
Came out with the confidence again last night and I love to see it

Keep thinking this can’t last, but Dario continues to dominate the league in net rating. He was a big positive again last night with Cam Payne. He really needs more 6th man of the year talk...and I’d bump his minutes up.

I just checked and no individual player has a better defensive rating than Dario. And only one player has a better offensive rating(Kyrie Irving - 121.8 to 121.5).Split T wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 7:19 amhttps://go.nba.com/2etz

Instead of putting together a highlight reel before every game to hype the fans up before tipoff, the Suns should just play this video on repeat.
Re: Game Day: Suns (24-11) @ Blazers (21-14), Thurs 3/11/21
I'd rather get the 4 seed and have Devin Booker rest for a few weeks to make sure he is healthy than have the 2 or 1 seed and risk a knee injury.
Re: Game Day: Suns (24-11) @ Blazers (21-14), Thurs 3/11/21
I understand that, if there is injury risk I’d rest him, but I really want a top 3 seed. Denver is going to get that 5 seed and I don’t want to play them round 1. I think that’s a tough series and I really want this team advancing at least 1 round. I’d feel pretty good facing any of Portland, GS, Dallas, SA, or Memphis in round 1.
Dream scenario would be
1. Utah
2. Phoenix
3. LAC
4. LAL
5. Denver
6. Portland
7. San Antonio(but they won’t be here, so I’ll say Dallas)
8. Golden State
We’ve kinda owned Dallas for 3 years now. 3-0 this year. Give me them and then LAC/Portland in round 2. Avoid the Lakers till the WCF.

Agreed on all of the above. It could be a harder road in the playoffs if the Suns dropped.Split T wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 8:03 amI understand that, if there is injury risk I’d rest him, but I really want a top 3 seed. But even if the Suns get the 1 seed, but Booker's injury doesn't heal or gets worse, there is no situation in which the Suns contend this season (and with knee injuries, perhaps next season).
Im not a Suns trainer. I don't know Booker's actual health. I know he loves to play and push himself. I would handle his health with kid gloves as we go down the stretch.

I'd love for Portland to see the Clippers or Lakers in the 1st round.

For sure, fully healthy team should come 1st regardless.jonh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 8:18 amAgreed on all of the above. If they get CJ and Nurk back and put it all together, they're the team no one wants to face.
