Also, there is absolutely no way this version of the Heat goes back to the Finals this year.

They’re pretty great defensively...but they aren’t getting what they need from Herro and Robinson. Offense has been stale. They become interesting if they grab Lowry though.

WTF was that out of bounds call? It clearly went off of Igoudala like three times. How does the official miss that?
Pretty sure Kennedy just called it for Miami instead of calling the foul on Payne (?) when he hit the back legs of Iggy. There were already 2 team fouls in under a minute and it was a bit of an iffy foul call. I probably would have called it the same way.

Suns are two road wins in a row away from tying their longest road winning streak in their history (9).
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Love this game from DA. It wasn't like he was great all game, but he had really good stretches of playing straight up defense at the rim, and did a decent job of taking advantage of smaller guys on offense. He should be able to do both of these against half the league, and at least the defense part against every team.

Trading for Trevor Ariza is like the equivalent of eating Chinese food. It sounds like a good idea at the time, but you always regret it afterwards.
Chinese food is delightful. Also, Chinese food does not cost $10m/year.
I must be eating at the wrong Chinese food restaurants. My first bowel movement after eating it has been lovingly called “Pandas revenge”.

2 straight good DA games. Couple really good defensive possessions there.
See what happens when we’re patient? :D Let’s see if he can consistently put up this level of effort. Great game from him tonight.

Love to finish this without having to use CP3 or Booker

One of Ayton's best games of the year.
Craig adding a nice contribution.
Cam Johnson too.

I almost didn’t recognize Ariza tonight. He looks different when he gives a shit.

Replacing Crowder with Ariza isn’t going to cut it.

Another really complete game from start to finish against a good defensive team. Just super steady on offense, moving the ball, getting open shots, not too much ISO or overdribbling. One of our best games of the season and probably our best since All-Star. Nice that our starters minus DA sat the 4th. Dario with another snoozer, hoping he gets his game back soon.

DA is getting all the attention because he was a different player last night. He was decisive, aggressive, played with urgency, and seemed to be reacting with quick decisions instead of thinking or being tentative. Maybe he's gotten a second wind on the season, maybe someone's in his ear but it's also these kinds of games that are as frustrating as much as they are encouraging because you just don't know if he'll keep it up. He's a difference maker when he plays like that but you can't play like that once every 8 games. Hopefully it kicks in for him.

The rest of the guys are rolling. Starters are coming around together finally and Jae is looking comfortable again as a starter. Cam Johnson brings so much offensively and defensively off the bench. Craig is an interesting player who should help against the bigger body 3/4s. Not sure about his offense just yet, but he looks like he'll add some more physicality on the perimeter.

That’s the effort I’ve been waiting to see from DA. Constant effort and focus. He does that consistently and Wel be just fine.

Still need to pick up another big man. This time due to Darios recent struggles

I loved EJ's commentary around Ariza as soon as he made that first 3. "There are some guys you worry will get hot, and there are other guys like Ariza where you hope they think they are hot." That wasn't exactly it, but pretty close. And he kept coming back to it as the game went on. Dude took twice as many shots as he should have.

I heard that, too.
Also, when the camera panned over to Riley, EJ said something like, "Why'd I get Ariza when I could have stuck with Crowder ...?"
Window is open again ... blue skies ahead?
