No idea. Some people around here just love to shit on Ayton. I can't count the number of times in the 4th and OT he kept a possession alive with a rebound or tip out to a teammate.

Monty needs to take a page from Cotton Fitzsimmons' playbook and stay with the hot hand when it comes to Ayton.
He was catching the ball and going strong to the hoop in the first quarter and then they sub in Saric.
I mean, this is cooling off your best player of the moment.
Screw the rotation minutes ...

And it didn’t help that Saric was poor in his minutes as well. They knew the rim protection had gone and they they needn’t worry about any put backs at the other end. The lack of athleticism was very telling.

I don’t think anyone is criticizing Ayton for this game. He was fine.

It was more situational criticism on one or two plays where he missed open layups that could have sealed the win. But in general he was solid.

This is a great learning game. Tons of film to watch and situations to analyze. This will help us in the playoffs. Book with the stop in regulation and Mikal with the lockdown defense in OT.

Think it was to avoid Charlotte getting the switch and beating Ayton on the perimeter. That’s how they beat us the 1st time and Graham was starting to do it again.

Yea that was a Sunday 1pm game (east coast time) so it was ugly, guys were tired and shots weren't falling. Bridges came up big late, Crowder was strong on the boards, Craig chipped in on both ends. The bench wasn't really much of a factor again so heavy minutes for the starters. Hopefully those legs come back around and we get Dario and the Cams back into things.

I agree we should have tried to get him the ball, but he got most of his shots on rolls to the rims, lobs, offensive boards, etc. Not exactly plays you can fully plan for. The hornets took away a lot of these after the 1st Q. It’s not like he was getting the ball in the post and going to work.

Suns came out slow and it felt like Charlotte was going to blow the doors off but the Suns righted the ship sorta. They can’t shoot or rebound but I think experience is saving them.

Ayton having a decent game so far. Was a little annoyed he couldn’t back down and score on Caleb Martin on a possession in the 2nd. Just passed after a few dribbles. Punish that guard!

Suns came out with a great 14 minutes to start the 2nd half and then let off the gas as they're wont to do. Will they ever learn to finish off teams?
