Yes, he has had some good chemistry with McGee. It's just his own decision making has been off this season. He looks like he has blinders on and is bound and determined to do something regardless.

Jeremy might be onto something though with him playing next to Payne. Payton just isn’t a huge scoring threat off the dribble…perhaps letting him play next to another scoring threat off the dribble frees him up a little more. I wonder if it’s his minutes as the sole creator that are especially bad. Will have to keep monitoring, though hopefully he drops back out of the rotation when Booker comes back.Indy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 1:27 pmBut Elfrid has the worst +/- on the team, and he is almost always playing against 2nd and 3rd units.JeremyG wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:41 amI just like the fact that he plays more under control than Payne does, and is better at creating for others. I like more traditional point guards. The lineups with Payton at the point and Payne at the two may be worth exploring more.
Interestingly, Paul/Payne are a -45 in their 95 minutes on the court together and Payton/Payne are a +5 in their 84 minutes.
He's actually our only guy that has played in at least 150 minutes this season and has a negative +/-.

That’s Monty’s job, finding the right combinations.

Could be. I hope so.
By the way, take a look at team +/- around the league. We are third at +182 this year. GSW is 1st at +329 and Utah #2 at +309!

In a way that’s true, but point differential is historically a better predictor of future success. Also of note, I believe Utah has played one of the easiest schedules in the league. They are very good at blowing out bad teams. I think they are fake though. Don’t think they can win a series against LAC, GS, or PHX. They’ll continue to blow out bad teams and overrun them with their 3-point barrage, but good teams with elite defenses will slow that up. Also their whole defense is designed around the drop and limiting rim shots. LAC, GS, and PHX are very equipped to beat them with jump shots. So, not scared of Utah.

I'm not very scared of Utah. They have Gobert on the floor who can't make a shot, and they don't have a great distributor like CP3. I think we match up with them just fine.

I agree and actually think the Suns are a bad matchup for them.
