I should say, that isn't a good sign when the coach is known as a player's coach, but then the players ignore him. It isn't good for either side.

Ugh. Yeah, that is bad if he has lost the players. What happened to running through a brick wall for him?Indy wrote:Chambers said on the post game that Jeff was yelling out plays all game that the players were not running. That is not a good sign.

Those who rebel will get traded.

I hope, Ring. I am not sure who that is right now, but since Goran wasn't playing, and typically the PG gets you into your offense, it would have to be IT or Bleds.
Re: Game Day: Bucks (12-12) @ Suns (12-13), Mon 12/15/14
I think Jeff is plenty safe. I think/hope he'll be the coach for a long time. The roster has obvious flaws and redundancies that are getting exploited and I don't think that's on him.
Re: Game Day: Bucks (12-12) @ Suns (12-13), Mon 12/15/14
Well, if Hornacek ever calls out ANY plays, they must be ignoring the calls. Unless the play call is "go dribble around for 12 seconds, then hand off to another guard outside the 3pt line, and then go iso 1-on-2 and jack up a contested long 2 or 3."

I think this has been part of the problem all season. Bledsoe does not play like a PG; he's really an undersized 2 with a shaky jumper. We need Goran to get the team into its offense, with Bledsoe looking to cut, set screens, or get an offensive rebound. Defensively, Bledsoe should take the better of the opponents guards and try to hide Dragic a bit defensively.Indy wrote:I hope, Ring. Bledsoe doesn't pass well enough to be a PG, and he doesn't shoot well enough to be a SG. Oops.
Re: Game Day: Bucks (12-12) @ Suns (12-13), Mon 12/15/14
It's decision-making, and keeping his dribble. He's the anti-Nash in just about every respect, though he's not a *terrible* shooter.Mori Chu wrote:Bledsoe doesn't pass well enough to be a PG, and he doesn't shoot well enough to be a SG. Oops.

He has the best true shooting percentage on our team.

Doesn't matter. The way some people speak of him on here, you'd think he is Marcus Banks on that $70M contract. I hate the TOs too, and the way he doesn't get back when the refs don't give him the call (on the other hand, I don't care at all about the dumb stuff he pulled during the negotiations), but I believe he and Kieff have been our best performers so far all things considered.
Honestly all I want is to just go back to the way things worked last year, but you'd need to get rid of Thomas and find Dragic a real stretch four.

Is stretch 4 the hardest position to fill in the NBA? You have to be good enough to hit at 40% from deep & strong enough to guard guys on the block. There's really only a handful of good stretch 4s right now.
Go Suns!

Agreed. And it isn't even close. Goran has started to get it together lately, and IT has really done some amazing things early on (which is why he has the highest PER on the team), but as a team we just haven't put much together at the same time.but I believe he and Kieff have been our best performers so far all things considered.

Stretch 4 is the new rage and there are not many, indeed. You have the three stars in Love-Bosh-Dirk, then just a few of consolidated veterans. Millsap, Ryan Anderson, Frye and Patterson. McBob has not lived up to his %s from last season. Hawes is a 5.carey wrote:Is stretch 4 the hardest position to fill in the NBA? Younger guys like Mirotic, Sullinger, Olynyk, and the potential of Vonleh and Payne. Green plays that way on the Warriors but is just 6'7 I believe.
Am I missing anyone?

I am not sure who that would be, and how we would play with them. As we have said, Keiff is not the defensive PF we would love to see, but he is probably our best player so far this year. We can't put him on the bench unless we have a really good stretch 4 (better than Frye was for us). I am not sure I see that happening, especially if we are trying to just turn IT into that.carey wrote:Is stretch 4 the hardest position to fill in the NBA? And despite the fact that Alex is not very effective, he needs the playing time to develop. I want to keep him on the floor and use all 6 of his fouls every game. In order to do that, we need a Plumlee from the first third of last season. And Plumlee isn't that anymore.

Too bad Tolliver doesn't defend or rebound very well. It looks like Frye is being missed big time. I'd probably go back in time and give him that contract. Sure, it's on the high side especially as he ages but we're just not the same team this year. He would have been worth it.

I don't think putting Frye back in makes us a legit playoff team.
Re: Game Day: Bucks (12-12) @ Suns (12-13), Mon 12/15/14
I don't think I said he did. No one player does unless it's a superstar. So, either try to compete or let the young guys get experience and hit the draft hard again next year. But don't keep doing what we're doing.Indy wrote:I don't think putting Frye back in makes us a legit playoff team.
