But $31,406,061 is above the maximum that Ayton is eligible to make in 2022-23.

Could be James Harden. Or Steve Nash. Or Trae Young.
Take your pick.

I think Dirk’s comment applies for Trae here, probably Nash too. Harden fits, he had some moments on D.The Bobster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 12:01 pmCould be James Harden. Or Steve Nash. Or Trae Young.

In today's game, maybe Mitchell or Luka. The Lillard/CJ duo definitely fit this.

Harden for sure.
Re: Around the League News - 2022 Offseason Edition
Today's Harden isn't elite offensively. But yeah peak Harden...

Good for Atkinson, he's a solid coach and should do well with a young team in Charlotte. I think he and MikeD were finalists for the job.

Hubie Brown was 69 when the Grizzlies hired him, and it was to develop a winning culture. Which he did.
Larry Brown was hired at 68 by the Hornets.

I am not saying you can't be good for a couple years, and we all know that is about as long as any coach lasts. But you are hoping when you hire them that they can be your coach for +5 years. I don't see a 75 year old being able to put in the same energy for a job like NBA head coach. The Bobster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 8:47 pmHubie Brown was 69 when the Grizzlies hired him, and it was to develop a winning culture. I think you meant the Bobcats for Larry--and he lasted 2 seasons before he was fired.
And Hubie's health forced him to defer head coaching duties and then quit in 2 seasons.

There are occasional situations where you want to bring in somebody to get the boat pointed in the right direction - like when the Suns brought in Cotton to replace John Wetzel (although that ended up lasting 6 seasons).Indy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 10:09 pmI am not saying you can't be good for a couple years, and we all know that is about as long as any coach lasts. Well that's exactly what Williams and Jones did for us. Williams is a fantastic leader of men but I think he needs a good tactician by his side. He seems slow to make adjustments. I hope they can get him some help in that area. I think the loss of Willie Green on the sidelines was significant. The Bobster wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 2:47 amThere are occasional situations where you want to bring in somebody to get the boat pointed in the right direction - like when the Suns brought in Cotton to replace John Wetzel (although that ended up lasting 6 seasons).Indy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 10:09 pmI am not saying you can't be good for a couple years, and we all know that is about as long as any coach lasts. I wish Mike D'Antoni were willing to stay an assistant. I'd love to have him helping Monty. But you know he wouldn't want that job.

Anthony Davis is in the Chris Webber neighborhood of "what if's" at this point. He gets a pretty ridiculous pass right now because of the one title team he was on which happened to include arguably the best player ever.

More important than when he last shot a basketball is, how often is he on a treadmill or track? Watch those offseason snacks, big fella.
