those defenses are pretty wild. "Policy positions and solutions to the problems of the other two parties?!? Pshaw! That is your job? We are just here as a platform to raise money!"

Can you help? A political party is based on its policy. Saying, we don't have a policy, but we want to be a party makes no sense to me. They are basically just saying "I don't want to be part of the GOP or the Dems but I can't tell you what I actually stand for."

Their policy is, “Split the anti-Trump vote.”

I wonder what type of voter they hope to send them money. I mean the party so far is a bunch of republicans and Andrew Yang, who is 2/3 pre-Trump GOP and 1/3 Socialist.

A new political party that has literally zero stated policy positions is very USA 2022.

In theory, the right kinds of folks are taking the right kinds of ideological stances. But, you NEED specific policy positions. Without that, you are a joke and playing into the pro Trump agenda.

I am in favor of as many parties as you want. (I actually wish we didn't have parties at all and you actually had to read and listen to a person instead of the party telling you what that person believes). But this is just a rebranding of the GOP to try and take away Trump's hold on it.

Capitol Rioter Who Compared “Cancel Culture” to the Holocaust One Step Closer to Running Arizona’s Elections
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/202 ... tions.html
On Tuesday, Arizona Republicans voted to make one of the most dangerous election deniers in the country, Mark Finchem, the party’s nominee for secretary of state. Winning in the general election would put Finchem squarely in charge of voting in one of 2024’s most pivotal swing states. In other words, this guy would be in a prime position to try to throw Arizona to the next Republican candidate for president—or whoever he wants, really—vote count be damned.

To understand why this is so terrifying, you have to understand both Arizona’s significance in the Electoral College, as well as the background of this man. Finchem has lent his support to QAnon; called the COVID vaccine “a crime against humanity”; dismissed the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia; as a “Deep State PSYOP”; was part of the mob that rioted outside the Capitol on Jan. 6; and once boasted of being a member of one of the militias that is going on trial for allegedly leading the assault on the Capitol.

He has a lot of backing, and is running against a person of color. At least Fontes has name recognition from his time as the Maricopa County Recorder.

This guy is just bonkers. Demanding to be "installed" as US President? And it hardly makes the news. This guy wants to be a dictator, an autocrat.

I don't think he'll be allowed to do his own make up before a prison mug shot.

Interesting thread about the independent state legislature theory, which might be weaponized in 2024 to try to install Trump as President.
