What could they have been expecting?
Re: Suns 2022 Off-Season Thread
Anyone who thinks Dario is some sort of panacea need to remind themselves about how maddeningly inconsistent he was in 20-21, to the point where he was out of the rotation a few times.
If James Jones is disappointed it's because he was counting on Dario's return as his big move of the offseason, considering he did jack otherwise.

I don’t remember that at all, are you thinking 19-20? He was in and out with injuries in 20-21, but he was pretty consistently good when he played that year.
Re: Suns 2022 Off-Season Thread
Ya, April wasn’t good, May seems fine. He wasn’t out of the rotation though. I don’t think anyone thinks he’s some sort of savior…he was a 7th/8th man. He was perfectly good as a 7th/8th man all year when he was on the court. Do I think he returns to that? Not counting on it, but I hope so.

No, this was last week on the radio, before the JJ interview was published.

Re: Suns 2022 Off-Season Thread
Here's the exact quote:
"The reports I'm getting on Dario, in the international competition right now, by the way, are not good. He does not look good, looks slow, and really struggling overcoming that injury." (4 min. mark: https://omny.fm/shows/burns-gambo/burns ... -bogdanovi)
So it wasn't necessarily from the Suns' perspective.

Sounds like he fell out of shape (quarantine) then got the ankle injury ramping back up. Ruined his season. Consistency has always been his problem. It’s not so much that he’s streaky but the grind in the NBA is ridiculous and you’ve got to maintain flow with your team as a bench player and keep body ready. He seems like someone who has to really take care of himself like a Nash or CP3 to sustain a full NBA season.Split T wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 12:04 pmYa, April wasn’t good, May seems fine. "I came from the COVID and I couldn't really lift the weights or ride the bike," Saric said. "We were doing some sprints, we were playing and I stepped wrong. I didn't step on somebody's foot. It just kind of happened. Really, really weird situation. Nobody was around me and we were running and I just stepped wrong. That's it."

Maybe we were working on a Crowder for Barnes deal and that’s what Crowder caught wind of

In my opinion, a Crowder/Barnes trade would seem to make a lot of sense for both teams.

The Suns should just go out and win the title this year just to spite Sarver since he couldn't celebrate with them.
That'd show him.
