I honestly think the fans would’ve done better than Ryan McDonough.

Josh Jackson over Fox,
Bender over Jamal Murray
Trading Bogie for Chriss
Ayton over Luka

Basically he got lucky once with Booker.

Jones has been a bit better but not really.

Cam J has been great, but us fans would’ve taken Brandon Clarke and that would still be ok.

Passing on Halliburton was also a mistake.

Considering all these blunders, I just thank god we’re still fielding a competitive team. We could easily be the Kings right now.
I don't think Ayton over Luka fits your point. My take was that fans were split with the majority going to Ayton. Personally, I couldn't decide. I half wanted the Suns to get the 2nd pick, so I wouldn't have to hear/read about picking the wrong guy ad nauseam for eternity............

We suspected Luka to be a generational talent. I actively deluded myself into the conventional wisdom of wanting Ayton. Ayton is good. I wanted the 2nd pick too so as not to have to decide.

I’ve said this before, but I strongly suspect that our front office at the time had Bagley #2 on their board.

We would have picked Booker as well.
There was a lot of Jackson and Bender fans on this board. I don’t really remember very many Murray fans. I know this board would not have drafted Chriss
Tatum forever <3

So Booker is awesome.
Bridges and Johnson are great.
Paul is sliding, but still effective.
Ayton sucks.

I haven’t watched last nights game yet, but I get the feeling both sides know Ayton is gone by the deadline. Just waiting around for Jan 15th.

I know not a lot of people like these, but I think they are kinda fun in a small sample size. And I do love the message of honoring the Native American Tribal Nations.

I just have absolutely no interest in special weird jerseys that they'll wear a few times and then never again. The turquoise one isn't even Suns colors; it looks like a '90s Pistons uniform.

Yea I usually feel that way about alternate/city jerseys in general but I like the theme and motif on these. Also like that they kept it simple with a black outlined logo against the turquoise.

I like the court tbh, but the jerseys can burn in hell, should've used Grant Hill to model them.

I honestly think Luka over Ayton wasn’t that difficult. Talent aside it was clear to me at the time that Luka having been a Euroleague MVP at age 18 means that he could’ve handled the clusterfuckery that was the Suns during those three pg to no pg years and that Ayton, bless his heart, was significantly less mature and forceful as a personality and would’ve been led astray by the culture that Sarver had put in place.

Did McDonough draft Booker, or am I crazy?

The Josh Jackson year was hard to swallow, but the Bender year was a bit less so I guess as nobody had a good sense of the talent of those prospects. If anything we could’ve opted for more shot creation over size given the trend of the league, but then if the theoretical version of Bender came to be he might’ve been a poor man’s version of Mobley, less rim protection but more three point prowess.

The one that I still can’t and probably will never get over is not taking Haliburton.

I hate the small dinkity sunburst logo without any other design. It’s like a Marshall’s counterfeit jersey

I think they look a lot better than an earlier draft I saw. I think these work!

I asked for the new City Edition jersey for my birthday. Really cool the various ways they honor the tribes in our state and they look really cool. I usually think the city edition ones look like ass. In this case, they look fire, like carey said.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
