it gets Sacramento off Fox’s contract too
Um, I don't think anyone sees De'Aaron Fox as a contract a team needs to get off of.
Hmm, I have actually seen that a lot.
Where?! Twitter?! Come on. He is 24. He is Sacramento's franchise player. That's like the Suns wanting to get off of Devin Booker's deal because he had a bad playoff game.

If the Kings had any desire to move Fox, they would have kept Haliburton. And if they inexplicably have a change of heart, there is a Dejounte Murray deal waiting for them.
Ya that’s not true at all. I saw it on Twitter, heard it on podcasts. He was trending the wrong way last season and Fox hasn’t even played in the playoffs. He’s not on the same level as Booker. Fox also hasn’t played 60 games since his 2nd year.
Twitter AND podcasts? That was my point. If you are just going off fan-generated content, then that doesn't really move the needle for me.

How many playoff games had Booker played in before Chris Paul got here? Holding that against anyone that has played for Sacramento is hardly fair.

Regardless, my point wasn't that he was on the same level as Booker; I'm saying that assessment/reaction to Booker's playoff performance is as baseless as categorizing Fox as a contract a team has to get off of.

Those City edition uniforms are pretty fire.
I think they look a lot better than an earlier draft I saw. I think these work!
Assuming everything is accurate, I appreciate all the work they put into to produce a journey that honored the indigenous community. Aesthetically, I am not a fan of the color, but I appreciate what they are trying to do.

I never claimed it was talk from Sacramento wanting to get off the contract. Just that there was talk. And I still don’t think 1 bad playoff game compares to a bad season. Fox did not look like a max contract guy last year, looks good so far this year so it seems moot. However, I do think there was a risk of that turning into a tough contract if he continued his trend from last year.

I haven’t watched last nights game yet, but I get the feeling both sides know Ayton is gone by the deadline. Just waiting around for Jan 15th.
For what, though? His play isn't going to inspire great offers...

Someone banking on him playing better when he gets out of Phoenix? I don’t really know

That’s my reason in thinking Ayton will not get traded this year. Too many hurdles and questions, it’s just not gonna happen.

…but what about this!?

Raptors - Ayton, Crowder, Seth Curry, Royce O’Neal

Nets- OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Khem Birch, Cam Johnson, Torrey Craig. 3 1st round pick, 2 swaps from Suns, 1st from Raptors.

Suns- KD, Thad Young, Christian Koloko, Malachi Flynn, Josh Jackson(waive immediately after)

Suns then trade Shamet and Dario plus 1st and 1st swap for Eric Gordon.

CP3-Book-Mikal-KD-Biyombo

Payne-Gordon-Lee- Thad Young- Landale

Not sure the Nets would trade for Anunoby and the rest of that puu-puu platter.

The Eric Gordon pipe dream. Going strong since 2015. We'll still be floating Eric Gordon trade ideas in 2027 when he's 39 years old.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

It’s a first and swap sir, there’s a difference! Lol but for real tho, I think Landry Shamet sucks and his contract really sucks and I think it might take deal like that for team to take him on and give up good player also.

And before someone says something silly like “oh it’s not that bad, 23 million isn’t guaranteed”, so? What about the other guaranteed 25 million!? That’s a lot to ask a team to take on for someone who should be a minimum salary guy.

He should he pretty cheap by then tho, maybe just cost a second round pick by that point. :)

I’m saving my firsts for someone more impactful if it’s me

Toronto doesn’t strike me as a team that would be interested in Ayton. I really don’t think we can expect much in return for him at this point. I wish we had taken Turner/Hield…I’d even be thrilled with Poeltl/Johnson at this point. Could we get Nurkic/Hart? How about Plumlee/Hayward/Washington for Ayton/Crowder?

Id Just prefer to trade crowder and filler for Hayward in that case tbh.

I wish we could just convince Crowder to come back and play. We could really use him right now.

The filler would be most of our tradable contracts. Not sure I’d want to go all in on Hayward like that.

We could use him now to win regular season games. He doesn’t help us win the title though. He can stay home.

Real GM story says Suns are interested in Max Strus as a trade starter from the Heat in a Crowder deal.
👀 Fire Frank Vogel.
