We don’t have a vacant roster spot. We were at 16 players. Cutting him would have cost that much money.
My bad. I thought we had 15.

Toumani isn’t on a two way?

Is it really a salary dump if they're just going to add someone else to the vacant roster spot?
It was definitely to get the picks though…not a salary dump. I kinda expect them to use the TPE now that they have a few assets to offer in return.

Like already been said, we still have 15 guys, but Ish is non guaranteed. So we can easily create an open spot.

We didn’t have a 2030 pick swap before? I guess there’s some value to it if that’s the first time we gave it up. Otoh if Ishbia continues to make these bigger moves guess we will never just totally suck either.
We did give Washington a 2030 swap…. We just double swapped it

So this means Washington gets first call, and if they swap their pick for ours then Memphis can swap theirs for the one we got from Washington?

I'd argue far different than the Sarver salary dumps which were literally just ways to save some money at the expense of hurting the roster. Todd isn't some sort of difficult loss to swallow that's going to impact our current roster.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Dario was a salary dump and I felt we could’ve used him in the playoffs last year

Plus, I think the second rounders are valuable. I don't think there was any hope of Todd playing meaningful minutes for us. The seconds at least give us something to work with. Heck, with Ishbia's track record, he's going to turn these seconds into Dame

Any chance we can turn the 3 seconds into a first?

Easy, Talty, you're riding Jeremy pretty hard.

If we ever do a 2nd-round pick swap, can we officially call that a "sloppy 2nds" trade?
