Thought exercise: Do we think the new version of the Suns could beat the Wolves who swept us in last year's playoffs? Could this team beat the Mavs team that went to this year's Finals? Could this team beat the champion Celtics? Are we worse against any of these opponents than last year's team?
Depends. If Book Beal and KD don't play smarter, then yeah we still get swept this year. These guys have got to lead and move the ball and follow the system. I can't have KD driving from the three point line, Book trying to play PG and zero defense and Beal playing passive and unsure of himself.

I'll believe it and get excited when it translates to games.

I don't think I really want Nurkic shooting 3s. He was bad at them last season, and I doubt that any summer practice regimen could turn him into a deal shooter from 3. I prefer having him do what he's already good at.

That’s the problem though, what he’s already good at doesn’t require the other team to guard him. He can’t shoot and he’s a bad finisher. Minnesota ignored him and he couldn’t take advantage. He needs one of finishing or shooting.

He needs both... honestly, at least be a Valanciunis level shooter, and any 7 ft 280 lb center needs to be able to do more than throw the ball in the general vicinity of the basket. Jeremy warned us about his finishing last summer, and that he was absolutely right about.

He was…I think we all knew it would be a problem…we just didn’t envision a team like Minny using it against us the way they did. He couldn’t even finish when they almost completely ignored him on the roll.

AND ANOTHA ONE! Very intriguing name, seemed hyped up a bit in the draft a few years ago and dropped to 29th. I was watching him in SL wondering what happened to him the past few years since he'd fallen off the radar. Low risk, high reward tho and still just 22 years old.

Thank God. I was worried we were going to fill it with some tall freak over 6'4" and ruin the vibes. #5reboundsorless

Good G League player, hasn't transferred over to the NBA. Probably should have stayed at Kentucky a couple more years.

Good to see a local guy getting a chance. (this year's Saben Lee!)

There’s a good chance at least 1or 2 of Monte, Tyus or Damion are not here next year. Why not develop some talent on the side for next year or the year after? It’s not like we have a slew of draft picks we can count on?

It’s definitely a good thing…it’s just funny that we had none last year and now we have 4 on the roster(counting 2-ways).
