I'm familiar with the results. And it's not a knock. Once upon a time, we did have a staff that was known to be an advantage. That's not the case anymore.Superbone wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 10:28 amI'm not familiar with the Suns training staff. The org doesn't have some world class training team that has been able to keep guys healthy. Bringing in guys that are always injured and just hoping that just stops isn't a winning strategy.

Yeah, we used to know names and personnel. I seriously have no idea now who's in charge or even how many trainers. Knowing Ishbia, he's probably put some money into it so hopefully it improves.INFORMER wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 10:46 amI'm familiar with the results. And it's not a knock. Ha ha. Here's how good Google AI Overviews are after my query about the Suns training staff. Headed by a picture of James Jones and Frank Vogel.
The Phoenix Suns have a comprehensive training and coaching staff dedicated to player health, performance, and overall team success. This includes a medical team led by David Crewe, the Senior Director of Medical Operations, and Roger Sancho, the Head Athletic Trainer.
The coaching staff, currently under the direction of Head Coach Jordan Ott, includes several assistant coaches such as Chad Forcier, David Fizdale, Vince Legarza, Mike Hopkins, Brent Barry, James Posey, Chaisson Allen, and Schuyler Rimmer. [ed notes: Wrong!]
Here's a breakdown of key roles and individuals:
Coaching Staff:
Head Coach: Jordan Ott.
Associate Head Coach: Kevin Young. [ed notes: LOL; WAY wrong!]
Assistant Coaches: David Fizdale, Quinton Crawford, Miles Simon, Greg St. Jean, John Lucas III, Dru Anthrop, Jon Pastorek, Chad Forcier, Vince Legarza, Mike Hopkins, Brent Barry, James Posey, Chaisson Allen, Schuyler Rimmer, DeMarre Carroll. [ed notes: Nope.]
Director of Performance / Head of Strength & Conditioning: Cory Schlesinger.
Video/Player Development Assistant: Frazier.
Medical and Training Staff:
Senior Director of Medical Operations: David Crewe.
Head Athletic Trainer: Roger Sancho.
Assistant Athletic Trainer: Frank Adams.
Performance Therapist: Keegan Ross.
Banner Health: The team's official sports medicine and orthopedic provider.
Notable Aspects:
The Suns' medical staff is known for its comprehensive approach, focusing on the entire athlete, not just the injured part.
They utilize methods like regular kinesiology, functional anatomy assessments, and corrective exercise programs.

Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
I wonder what's the status of Ott's coaching staff.
Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
Yeah, you would think that would be coming together. So far, I believe all we know is Carroll. I'm hoping that Ott will coach our Summer League team.

We just did acquire an oft-injuried guy in Mark Williams. I am worried that we won't be able to keep him on the court.INFORMER wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 10:15 amI would have been fine if we traded Royce or Grayson for him because it would have helped the cap, but he can't stay healthy. CP3, KD, Beal, Williams... Suns do love some injury prone talent.
Love, Hurts.
Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
That’s what I had in mind.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Josh Minott, Larry Nance, Chris Paul, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Guerschon Yabusele
Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
Royce for Ayo works and saves us $2 mil in salary, plus he's an ending contract. I know it looks like we're adding another 6-5 SG but he's more of a combo guard who can run some point and plays pretty good defense. Offense is a little rough, but he's younger than Royce, cheaper, and moving Royce out opens up some of those minutes at the 3. Doesn't quite solve the logjam but still helps capwise. Bulls might do it for the shooting now that they took Okoro.
Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
Royce for Ayo is a no-brainer, but I don't know if that move has any value for Chicago.

Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
The Bulls front office is full of dumbasses. Royce for Ayo doesn’t make any sense for them but that doesn’t mean Bulls FO ain’t stupid enough to do it. It’s unlikely but you never know.
I wonder if we could do Royce for Jalen Smith straight up. Smith is expiring deal and Royce is signed for multiple years. He’d bring solid 3pt shooting a veteran leadership of something like that…idk, I give up.

More fun gambling stuff
Re: 2025 NBA Offseason News
I bet there is more of this going on. We are in a very dangerous place, where you can literally gamble online on any specific stat from any specific player. The temptation is enormous for a player to take a bribe like, "Just get under 9 rebounds tonight and we'll pay you $500,000" or something of that nature. I worry that all the deeply integrated gambling stuff is going to corrupt the league and cause major problems. In general if I were in charge of the country, I would ban all these online betting sites like Fanduel, DraftKings, etc., but I know that's an extreme measure.
