My bad guys…this was a fail…I also realize I meant it to be what you expect to happen, not what you would do, but I wasn’t clear…feel free to move along haha
No worries!!
But also, for my chronic pain addled-brain today, do you mind editing each of the responses for brevity and/or clarity? Then, and only then, will I be able to give you the honest response that you deserve!!

They aren't gonna trade it, nobody wants it, they have to stretch it. And I believe getting rid of him via stretch gets the team out of both aprons, I could be wrong. It's the simplest way forward. Would it be better just to let him expire? In financial terms yes, of you want to just call your roster as is, you sit him and deal with the players association killing you for doing so, not great for a team looking to big FA hunting in a couple of years. Its better to stretch him to get his stink off the roster and it allows you to make a lot more moves once you're under both aprons.
We can’t go big FA hunting in a couple of years if we have a $19M cap hit.
The simplest option is to buy him out, waive him, and not stretch the contract.

Maybe I'm just being naively optimistic, but I'm hoping the delay in getting Beal waived is because maybe there's something other than a buyout coming. Maybe there's some sort of trade possibility out there? I still think the waive and stretch is short-sighted... we don't have a Myles Turner signing waiting in the wings. Unless you've got a move lined up, where's the rush to get rid of a guy, who, at worst, you can still bring off the bench and get 20 a night out of?

Well how would you feel about a S&T for Kuminga?
In order for that trade to work cap/salary-wise, wouldn't Kuminga need to be signed to a max or near-max amount? I don't hate Kuminga but I really wouldn't want to have him at that high of a salary.
Sorry I meant after we waive and stretch Beal. It would be Grayson or Royce for Kuminga
Kuminga is just a dusty Andrew Wiggins in a newer package, but I could sell myself on having Green and Kumbucket flying through the lane trying to dunk on people. Way better than watching dudes heave 3s and shoot 18 foot jumpers.

I would definitely be fine with that, provided that we don't overpay for Kuminga. We don't need to cave into his demands or Golden State's. We can do the bare minimum to make it work.
I just get the sense that right now we don't have a plan other than, "more flexibility". I also don't know if there's a deadline on waiving Beal? If we don't have a Kuminga deal lined up (or something else), there's no reason not to just hang on to Brad until something favorable does pop up.
What about Allen & Richards for Kuminga? It would allow Golden State to re-sign Kuminga at about $22 million for the first year to make a sign & trade deal work.

Do we really WANT Kuminga tho or are we just trading for a guy because he's available? I'd rather hold onto Royce and Allen than trade them for Kuminga to be honest.

A trade would be nice but who is going to trade for him now that they know we’re willing to buy him out and they can just sign him for cheap? Perhaps if he didn’t have a no-trade clause, but with the NTC he gets to choose his new team either way.

Well if we waive and stretch Beal at the assumed amount(he gives up 14m), then we don’t even have to include Richards. We can take back more salary at that point, up to the 1st apron. So we’d have about 6ish million we could add onto Grayson.
