I think KD has reached a point in his career where, given everything about the way he plays and his contract, he is actually a net negative for a team. He occupies max cap space and you have to run your offense through him, where he's going to hog the ball, over-dribble, chuck, and get stripped and get the ball stolen over and over. He'll get you 25-30 points and have a decent looking box score, but the rest of your team will stagnate and stand around as he pounds the air out of the ball and then gets his pass picked off. I don't think you can win a title with KD on your team. We are so much better off without him.

Rockets fans are hilarious. Beginning of the season they were invincible, now they're melting down over B2B losses to the Blazers. They're quick to blame everyone else (Ime and Jabari last night) but also are starting to cool a bit on KD I think. And for the first 2 months of the season they kept talking about waiting to get DFS back like he was some missing piece.
And FWIW, the Suns lost B2B against the Blazers last year. Maybe it's a KD thing?

The Rockets weren't broke, they should have left it alone, much like the Suns previously. If this has shown anything, it's that KD isn't the piece to chase to get you from good to great as a team.ShelC wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 9:30 amRockets fans are hilarious. Yup. He's the final piece on a ready-made team. See: Warriors. They won before and after he was there.TOO wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 11:01 amThe Rockets weren't broke, they should have left it alone, much like the Suns previously. Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Ehh, the Rockets are still very good. I think you guys are putting the suns troubles with KD onto the rockets and I don’t think it’s the same. Ya they lost to the Blazers, but they beat us and they are playing without Sengun. They kinda have to play through KD when Sengun is out.
I watched part of the game last night, and it’s hard to win when you have Smith/Thompson/DFS go 1/20 from 3. Rockets still have the 2nd best point differential in the league. I don’t think they will win a championship, but they are not the KD suns at all.

My bad, hate away haha

Rockets are a good team, I don't think anyone's taking that away from them. But point differential can be overrated too - they've had a pretty soft schedule, had some wins against some good teams but also blew out the Jazz, Nets (twice), Wizards, Kings (and us twice) along the way which helps skew things.

Shel, please tell me you didn't just lump the Suns in with the Jazz, Nets, Wizards, and Kings.ShelC wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 12:40 pmRockets are a good team, I don't think anyone's taking that away from them. No I was just making the point that we got blown out twice by the Rockets which helps their point differential.

Portland has won five in the row and are one of the "warmer" teams in the league.ShelC wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 9:30 amRockets fans are hilarious. Not a team to be overlooked at the moment.
Look at the roster and it's like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid: "Who are those guys?"
A fun team to watch again. A trade or two away from being a serious contender...
