Heat announcers were so fucking salty the suns got the lead. Been nice if completed the comeback. On to Detroit

But it wasn't necessary and you know he's not going to get a break on any close calls.

Fluke game by bam. He’s been straight booty cheeks all season, now he wants to go off. Whatever lol

Tough loss. Heat had to get nuclear hot at the end to pull ahead, including Adebayo somehow hitting multiple 3s. And Book, Brooks, and Gillespie all had mediocre shooting games.

Still a drag. In spite of the 20 point 1st half deficit, Suns had a 6 point lead late and couldn't hold it. Props to the Heat for closing it out strong. Suns clutch minutes not so clutch tonight.

Zero excuse. They are given phonetic pronunciations from the Suns staff.Furlanfufi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:17 pmEverytime they called IghoDORO my ears hurtWally_West wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:11 pmHeat announcers were so fucking salty the suns got the lead. Hope Bookers ankle is okay. Made a hell of a defensive effort on that play. On to the next one.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Wow
Here at work as usual and was showing a colleague something so end up seeing the score. Was like 54 - 71 ?!?
Then I just said I'm tuning in from the 3rd quarter to see how the guys respond
The fact that I felt it was worth tuning in and then not surprised we came out just relentless made me smile to think where my confidence in the team is now
I will watch later to see what was going on in the 1st half but yeah it's a bummer they didn't hold on but Book injury is probably a big issue. Looks like he got the green light to go back in before it stiffens up but I'm guessing it worsens over night smh
Example #578 lol as to why to never count these guys out
Hopefully health doesn't undermine what we're building

Will say that I think this is the first or at least one of only a couple times that I wanted Ott to make an adjustment and nothing happened
We had all their actions for Herro and Powell locked up but we never countered when they let Jacquez Jr initiate down the stretch.
We got away with Collin marking him early in the 4th but credit to him, his combo of strength and ball handling kept collapsing our D. Don't remember Dillon being on him much, he was on Powell a bunch and would have rather Grayson switch
Either way, sure we'll learn from it

Pistons are going to have 5 days of rest when we play. Uggggh. Really wish we got this one.

Sucks to lose this one. We were flat in the 1st half and the Heat were knocking down everything. Our worst basketball in a long time but woke up in the 2nd and the Heat cooled off with their shooting. Grayson was huge this game - these are the dog days of the NBA season and I think a lot of players are feeling the minutes but he's come back with a lot of juice and given us a shot in the arm. Hopefully Green does the same.
I know it'll sound hypocritical given complaints about our own defense (esp after the NYK game) but I thought the Heat got away with a lot of fouling and holding in the 4th once we got the lead. Grabbing around the waist, pulling arms and some flopping. Larsson instigated a lot of BS and generally, it was shitty how they mucked up the game and threw off any rhythm once we got the lead.
Glad we fought back, that's been our calling card all season. We got the lead and were looking good but didn't respond well to the Heat's antics. And while Ott's done a good job with adjustments and pushing the right buttons, I thought he should've maybe looked to Oso once Bam started stepping out later in the game. Hindsight's 20/20 tho - Bam can shoot but you don't really expect him to hit three 3s like that.
CG hit some big 3s for us but was having a hard time with Mitchell until Mitchell left with an injury. Brooks....I guess you gotta take the good with the bad but tonight was the bad. The extra stuff wasn't necessary and cost us points. Hope Book's ankle is OK - doubt he'd miss the games in Detroit and New York.

I thought Miami had excellent perimeter defense. Our guards almost never seemed to get a clean look, which you can see in our horrible shooting stats, especially from deep. We need to do better at getting guys open through screens or passing or other means. Can't rely on guys like CG and Grayson (or Book) to hit tough contested 3s every night; we won't consistently win against the league's best defenses that way.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 4:49 amSucks to lose this one. Re: Game Day: Suns (24-15) @ Heat (20-19), Tues 1/13/25
So these things tend to balance out but in a close game where we lost by 6 - the refs called a charge on Grayson that they reviewed and overturned. Problem is, when the charge was called Grayson had kicked it out to CG who knocked down a 3 which ended up not counting in a 95-97 game. We got the ball after the call was overturned but the Heat defended well and Grayson airballed a 3 as the shotclock expired.
Now tonight the NBA rescinded the tech on Brooks which cost us another point when the game was 79-82. So those are gamechangers, especially the lost 3 which would've given us a lead at that point. I guess those are just the breaks.
