Sign and trade does not clear apron space, which is probably more valuable than late 2nd rounders...

I'm not sure I've seen any evidence Kham is ready for rotational minutes. Best course of action might be giving WIlliams a shorter but more expensive deal as a stop-gap until we know for sure what we have in Kham.Wally_West wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 9:49 pmI don’t think Mark comes back, mainly because Man Man is too good to be a 3rd stringer again. I think they sign and trade him for a few 2nds and then reroute the money to retain Goodwin.
Unless they do something crazy, like using Man Man to get Giannis, I think Mark is gone in a sign and trade.

I would love to keep Williams as long as he is willing to sign a reasonable deal (read, not too much $$$, not too many years). 2-year deal would be fine with me in the $12-15m range. Much more than that and I'd be too scared to bet on his health. I don't think ManMan is quite ready to be a starting center yet, nor do I really want to play Oso starter's minutes.
I'm selfish and want to retain all of our guys. I think Royce O'Neale is the most expendable rotation player, and I would also like us to trade Jalen Green. Maybe we can get some cap relief that way. But I do want to re-sign basically everybody: Goodwin (most of all), Gillespie, and Williams.

Then just trade Maluach now then. We really supposed to wait until year 3 for our number 10 pick? 3 years to see if he’s ready for mins. Thats crazy.ShelC wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2026 4:40 amI'm not sure I've seen any evidence Kham is ready for rotational minutes. I thought he’s shown enough in March to start getting rotation mins next year, but that’s me. But if that’s how the org feels about him, that we really need another year of him being a 3rd stringer, for our lottery pick, then let’s just get on the off ramp now and see if he can get you a Markkanen or something like that before his value completely tanks.

Williams picking up the QO would be ideal…that or a S&T. I’m fine with putting Man Man into the fire next year.
I wouldn’t hate a reasonable contract for Williams either. Something we could trade down the line. I think 15 is a bit steep. He really seems more like a great backup C to me. I don’t think he’s a starter on a contender. 3/40 seems fair.
I don’t think Gillespie is anywhere near the MLE at this point. He’s looked more like a vet min guy that last month or so. Ty Jerome got 9 million a year last year. That seems like the ceiling for me. 3/25 seems reasonable.
Goodwin is the best of those 3…he’s not traditionally a type that gets paid though. I thought 2/12 earlier in the year, but I’d give him the 3/25 I mentioned for Gillespie…and if it came down to one or the other, I’d choose Goodwin at this point.

Please, please no Giannis. PLEASE. I cannot watch him bulldoze at his prime and his talent is going to fall off rapidly as soon as his athleticism drops as he has no skillWally_West wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 9:49 pmI don’t think Mark comes back, mainly because Man Man is too good to be a 3rd stringer again. Hey Saucey, how long you gonna leave your avatar as a packet of sauce swooning over a pedo who went to another team?

However, I would still love Giddey on this team.

I feel like, even though William hit 60 games, he really regressed there after a certain point well before the 60 mark. The Bobster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 7:58 pmGames played this season by select centers -

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I think you've had that avatar for around 16-17 weeks. Definitely under 18. When I think of your Giddey avatar, I definitely think "under 18."specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 10:21 amThanks! I didn't even notice that was still my avatar. I'll have to find something even more explosive
