No big mistery here. Title team slowly but surely fading due to inability to pull off moves that extend their window and franchise player unwilling to just stay put surrounded by mediocrity the last quarter of his HOF career.

I really hope this isn’t true. Are they just ignoring the last 1/3 of the season? This roster doesn’t make a ton of sense as constructed and is not better than Utah or Portland.

It's good business to try to extend Williams regardless of how they view him on the roster long-term.

My biggest worry with "running it back" is largely connected to Ott's rotation down the stretch and not as much with the actual roster.

Maluach and Fleming must be getting at least 20MPG, and someone needs to make Green comfortable with being a sixth man.

I'm underwhelmed and I think we'll see regression unless Ott plays our size and youth. If we're going with an 8-9 man rotation that includes heavy use of Royce and Grayson in smaller lineups, we'll be lucky to be a play-in team.

Disappointing if true.

Booker / Green / Brooks / Fleming / Williams
Gillespie / Goodwin / Allen / O'Neale / Oso
Brea / Dunn / Highsmith / Peat / Maluach

Those guys are all under contract, right? Or they will be as soon as Williams picks a new number and signs.

Then we have these guys who are probably gone:
Bouyea / Coffey / Livers / Huntly
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

Disappointing indeed. Keeping all Green, Allen and O'Neale makes no sense when you have Booker and Brooks. At the very least one of Green or Allen needs to go.

And talking about depth is fine if you don't have a big gap in your rotation, but right now we don't have a starter level PG (unless you want to count Gillespie as such) and it is said they want to move away from point Book. On the other hand, I am fine with not having a vet PF (or C if/when Williams goes down) since the kids need a real chance. But yeah, the logjam at guard is absurd.

WOW.

I do not like what the Wolves are doing this summer. They traded Randle and somehow got less mature. Could be a lot of fun to watch them, but I don't see this team as a contender.

Crazy trade. Why did Minny trade not one but both of their rotation PFs? Like who do they even plan to start at PF? I like LaMelo fine but this is weird roster construction. I thought Minny's size was one of it's strengths. And I would also be nervous to put LaMelo and Ant together given their character and behavioral issues.

I like Mark Williams, but I wonder if there's a sign and trade we could do with Milwaukee to get Myles Turner?

Teams need to have some positional versatility on their roster to succeed in this league. Ideally you can play big or small, fast-paced or slowed down. The biggest issue with our roster right now is that we have 6 PF-Cs on our roster and not a single one is a good 3 point shooter. All of our good shooters are 6-5 and under and, exacerbating the issue, our best player is a guard who stinks at 3s.

What you’re left with is a roster that can never go big without significantly sacrificing spacing. Which of those 6 bigs can play well together? The only way we can successfully go big is if Fleming pans out as a 3 point shooter and even then we’re just normal-sized.

Brown for Green, Grayson and Man Man? Yeah I’d probably do it :(

Brea is probably still a 2-way if he’s back…same with Huntley. I don’t think Livers is eligible for a 2-way anymore. Bouyea has a non guaranteed deal next year(so does Highsmith). If we sign Williams and guarantee Bouyea and Highsmith, we have no roster spots left…just 2-ways and only one 2-way if Brea and Huntley are back.
