I'm just trying to understand the basketball rationale behind this trade, ignoring the domestic abuse because clearly that doesn't matter to Ishbia.

The deal sheds $7 million from the cap, which looks like it still leaves them over the L-Tax threshold. so we're still only looking at the Tax-Payer MLE.

Bridges is on an expiring contract, and shedding $22 million off the payroll would create even more flexibility, but Gambo is saying they want to have him past this year.

Bridges doesn't address any need the Suns had, except that he is a better player than Allen and/or Royce. There really isn't room for him in starting lineup unless they're going with Point Book again or moving Jalen Green to the bench. So you did all of this for sixth man? And what about finding more minutes for Fleming?

This only feels like a worthwhile acquisition if you're a fan of Bridges and wanted him regardless of fit or need.

As you said previously this feels redundant with Brooks. Does the FO have an affinity to undersized forwards who can’t shoot or rebound? I hate that we’re throwing our picks around like they do t matter. It’s nice that the FO wants to improve the team but making a move just to make one doesn’t make sense. It seems like they’ve had an obsession with Bridges for awhile regardless of team construction so that’s why the move.
