I have Tyler's training card too. I always take him on Prizepicks for less than 0.5 plates broken. Dude is money with the server trey.

I was pretty much out already, but today is when I also canceled Suns+.

I thought this was a good article and the writer and I landed in the same spot. I will never buy a Miles Bridges jersey but I will continue to root for the Suns. I also don't believe in cancel culture and I do believe in second chances. Let's see how Bridges carries himself going forward. I hope all of them continue to get help going forward. Him, his ex, and his kids.

I just don't care enough about the sports to get all in my feelings about Bridges enough to let it affect my fandom.Superbone wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2026 10:35 amI thought this was a good article and the writer and I landed in the same spot. I legitimately forgot these guys existed. Unfollowed all of them after they fired Gerald & haven't come across them since. No idea who the new guy is. They have fallen far from when it was Espo, Lindsey, and Gerald and quite fun to watch.
Go Suns!

For me, Bridges’ character are a minor factor. Ish is who is really driving me away. Starting with the Durant and Beal moves, the quote in my signature was pretty much it for me. The Bridges trade is just more of the same.
Rooting for Jerry and Cotton was rooting for the universe to be set right. They deserved a championship as much as anyone. Ish is pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum. He might be a step up from Sarver in terms of personal character (not saying much), but the way he manages the roster and draft assets would be infuriating if I still cared.

It took me a while, but I'm starting to get there as well. Sarver made roster decisions because he was cheap, Ishbia because he's impatient and lacks foresight. Neither is a recipe for success.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 4:11 amWordCap wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2026 11:03 pmFor me, Bridges’ character are a minor factor. Ish is who is really driving me away. I do appreciate how much Ishbia cares and how many of his decisions are fan-forward. He badly needs to hire people who challenge him, but seems to have surrounded himself with sycophants.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I'm wondering why, if this is the offer we were going to make, we didn't bring it to Dallas for PJ Washington. He's a much better fit for us, they have other 4s and could really use Grayson and Royce, so we could have probably gotten this done without the pick component.

Except Ishbia is continuing to get us pieces for the future while simultaneously competing in the present.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 9:23 amIt took me a while, but I'm starting to get there as well. Rasheer, Maluach, Oso, Koa. They're all development pieces that are real.
He's not interested in tanking. It just won't happen. Yet even while trading away picks he manages to manipulate his resources to continue to find talent.
It's funny you guys hate on him so bad, and if we tried to trade Fleming (a brilliant talent acquisition ) you would have a stroke. So was that a great add or not? Because he's not mortgaging the future. He's finding pieces for the future with some of his assets while diversifying to stay relevant and compete now. This team as constructed could mesh and make some noise. They're no less talented than the Nuggets, Clippers, Rockets, Lakers, Warriors, Wolves. The only two teams I struggle to see a series victory over is the Thunder and the Spurs.

Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I won't hate on you for being optimistic. But I really don't see our team this way. We have a decent team, a team that has a good chance to compete on most nights and most games. We will probably go .500 or slightly over/under it. I really don't see us as a playoff threat. I would expect us to lose a first-round series against almost any other playoff team. We got swept this year and aren't much better now, if at all. And several other playoff teams did get better.specialsauce wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 9:32 amThis team as constructed could mesh and make some noise. I don't see us beating any of these teams in a series, barring major injury to the opponent: OKC, Spurs, Nuggets, Rockets, Wolves. Depending on offseason moves, we could also get smoked by the Lakers and/or Warriors, but let's wait and see how the offseason plays out.
I have already conceded that I may be too negative on the team. I was too pessimistic about them last year, for certain. But either way I just don't like us giving away all of our picks through 2033 just on the hope that our current team can be a frisky low-tier playoff team that gets bounced in the first round every year. I don't see the high ceiling you seem to see.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I'm sure it'll take a decade or so before he stops meddling ala Mark Cuban.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I don't think it’s that hard, if you’re willing to spend money and future draft capital, to build a team that is consistently competitive. The bigger challenge is becoming a contender. It takes stars to win titles in this league. Booker may no longer be a top-20 guy so if we want to make the leap from scrappy-decent team to an actual contender, we need to either develop stars to pair with him or trade for them. You have to be incredibly lucky and/or have the best scouts in the NBA to build that kind of team with picks in the 20s and second rounders. So future, unprotected picks become the currency to acquiring those stars. You can’t blow those to acquire a Miles Bridges level talent.specialsauce wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 9:32 amExcept Ishbia is continuing to get us pieces for the future while simultaneously competing in the present.Shabazz wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 9:23 amIt took me a while, but I'm starting to get there as well. Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I agree with the first part of your message. I too think our record this season is going to be about 500. If we had a pole today I’d pick 41. However I also don’t think we won’t have a chance against the Rockets or Warriors. Wolves and and Nuggets remain to be seen. The real problem and why I said in other posts that I don’t want us to blow valuable assets to go from getting swept in the first round to winning 2 in the first is the fact that we won’t get out of the playin and will thus always face OKC or Spurs.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2026 10:08 amI won't hate on you for being optimistic.
