Uh, I didn't say he's a worst shooter. By percentage he's one of the best to ever do it. I haven't watched a lot of Laker games for (hopefully) obvious reasons so I don't know his shot chart, but I don't think he's one of those deep deep shooters, that's the only point I'm making. The shooting gravity was a positive comment. I thought I was being positive.

I don’t think the shooting is all that different from last year. Grayson quietly had a poor shooting season(35%)…that’s not much different than what we can expect from Bridges. Kennard is a better shooter than either Royce or Grayson…he’s been like 46% over the last 5 years or something…just need to get him to shoot more.
But I think context has to figure into this. Grayson did shoot 35% but he was forced to carry the team when Book was out and he wasn’t good enough of a driver to be always respected so a lot of defenses tried hard to take the three away and he had to take increasingly low percentage shots. I don’t think his 35% compares to Bridges’ at all.

I do think Kennard is a better 3% shooter. He strikes me more as a Duncan Robinson type movement shooter who has gravity even without the ball and has some useful on ball chops in a pinch too. What worries me tho is that he doesn’t seem to shoot from well behind the three point line which both Grayson and Royce did so that cramps the spacing just a touch more. I hope his movement gravity makes up for it.
I'm confused, Kennard shoots 44% from 3 for his career.
Yeah, but what about from 40 feet?

Hmm. I like Kennard and I am for the signing. I preferred him over Sexton. Guess I should stop there and not voice any concerns about how it should impact the team as I am being positive.

I know. I’m leaning into the negativity which is more my regular MO. Don’t worry Bone, I’ve got thick skin.

But while we are here, I am legitimately concerned that we don’t have long long range bombers now. Grayson and Royce, while their percentages were pretty low, were among league leaders in shots taken from 30 feet. That threat alone creates space for other players on the court. Collin shoots from deep a little and maybe Pat Spencer also has that kind of range? Not that familiar with his game.

For sure Grayson is a better shooter than bridges…I also think the role he played was the reason for his low percentage…just pointing out that bridges could probably shoot 35%. The biggest difference will be volume…bridges and Kennard won’t shoot as much as Grayson and Royce.

Actually, I think Spencer can shoot it from range if I remember right.

Between Kennard and Pat Spencer, the Suns are really increasing their dad-bod representation. (Be calm; I like both guys.)

Right? I'm sure Mori would have a different opinion if Kennard and Spencer were topless in his bedroom with him.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
