The question was what they would say, not what is true or what I believe. This was not me endorsing the move in any way. Just guessing what the team will say.O_Gardino wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 1:07 pmSplit nailed it to you, eh? Good for you guys.Superbone wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 1:00 pmYeah, you're probably right. Hopefully they got deep intel on this guy from Nik Richard’s and Mark Williams about the kind of person he truly is as a teammate, but specially if he really is a human being deserving a second chance after a terrible, awful series of events brought on him by himself and no one else.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 12:52 pmThey will denounce domestic violence and say that they carefully investigated it as they would never take something like that lightly. I do believe that changing sceneries can do miracles for people, and given that he is coming to the team, we need a completely different Phoenix’s Miles Bridges on and off the court.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I don't have a strong opinion about whether they answer questions about it or how they answer the questions. I don't really see any spin that fixes the underlying issue. Any words put on top of it are just noise. It is what it is. They knew what he was, and they wanted him. So he is on our team now, for better or for worse.Superbone wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 12:41 pmhttps://cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/hxJmaFCs
We have a very interesting press conference coming up. I agree with these guys. They can't just make a statement and then not allow follow up questions. It's going to be a very uncomfortable press conference as well. On the other hand, I can't see them having Bridges sit up there and take question after question about it.
And Mat Ishbia and Brian Gregory need to be held accountable for how this meshes with their high character player mantra they have been preaching. They are the ones that traded for Bridges so they should take the brunt of it.
Anyway, it's all going to be very interesting. Do the Suns dare make an opening statement about it and then not allow further questions regarding it? How do y'all see it going down?

oh, I know. And you are exactly correct about how they will handle those questions.Split T wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 1:25 pmThe question was what they would say, not what is true or what I believe. "Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

Miles Bridges’ complicated Suns arrival, and what it means for the team’s culture

Miles Bridges is a throwback player, durable, protective and versatile, one who should not only make the Phoenix Suns better next season, but should fit into the basketball culture the front office has promoted as the organization’s foundation.
That’s the assessment of five former NBA assistant coaches who have worked with Bridges, the physical forward the Suns acquired from the Charlotte Hornets in a trade on June 28. The coaches spoke candidly with The Athletic about Bridges, detailing where he should help the Suns and where he needs to improve. They also acknowledged his off-court conduct and expressed confidence he had learned from previous mistakes...

“The only aspect of the basketball character that he needs to really improve upon is like the sacrificial winning things,” Friedman said. “Do you crash the offensive glass every time? Are you detail-oriented defensively? Do you ease up just because you’ve scored 20 on a given night, and then you’re also giving up 20?
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
Hmm sounds great, maybe he can start to work on that. At age 28.

Top-100, check.
Miles Bridges ranks as the #98 overall player in the NBA overall and is generally classified as a top 25 small forward and power forward in the league. He most recently finished the season averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
This is interesting from The Ringer. Bridges was part of the most successful five-man group in the league last season.
Ball has spent much of the past few years in trade rumors, but the timing of this deal is jarring. The Hornets are coming off the most successful stretch of basketball in recent franchise history. In their second season under head coach Charles Lee, they jumped from 19 wins to 44, ending the season with a 27-10 finishing kick in which they looked like one of the most promising young teams in the league. Their starting lineup—Ball, Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, and Moussa Diabaté—was the most successful five-man group in the entire NBA last season. And Ball was the drink stirrer: the best passer on the team, the primary creator in the pick-and-roll, and the free-range attacker in transition who instilled the Hornets’ run-and-gun style.
