Is Suns’ wait to re-sign Miles Bridges more for them or him?
If Miles Bridges waits to sign a new deal until later in the season, does that benefit the Suns?

If Villain karate chops an opponent this season, I'll buy his jersey.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

That's wild; Williams goes down as the ink is barely dry on his extension. At least it doesn't seem directly related to his previous injuries and hopefully isn't a sign that his wheels are busted long-term. But I suspect he'll miss a good chunk of the season recovering. This will give Maluach an extended period to show what he can do. Hopefully he can carry over his great Summer League into the regular season.

Quick google search says, 9-12 month recovery. Probably out for the year. I wonder if they'll be able to get an injury exception to sign another backup big.

Bad luck for Williams but forces us to give good minutes to Maluach which is definitely best for the longer term

I'm gonna be honest, I've never heard of this saying before. I learned something new today.

I like Mark Williams in theory. But our expenditure of assets to acquire him, plus the cap space we are now using on his new deal, are looking pretty unwise already.

The new deal doesn’t bother me so much, but I agree on the cost to acquire him. You don’t send 2 1sts for someone who starts half a season.

This coming 2026-27 season he may not start at all. Or maybe not until the very last few weeks/month of the season.

He might not, that’s mostly what I meant by only starting half a season(meaning last year). The contract itself is a decent number for a good backup center, so that’s why the contract doesn’t matter that much to me…but trading 2 1sts for a guy who essentially became a backup after half a season.

I just got back for a mini vacation. Explains this clickbait link:

Just that Mark Williams had surgery and is probably out until at least February, so they are surmising Maluach will start…probably will just be Oso starting.

If he hit 10 in a row, wouldn't they post that?

I'm glad he's working on the right stuff this summer, and I hope he comes back as a whole new shooter.
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

Well, either way, Maluach will get much more needed time out on the court.
