Bit of new updates about the NBA's potential expansion to Vegas and Seattle. Seems like they are still planning to move it forward. Hopefully they don't demand that Seattle build a brand new NBA arena, because the one we have has already been renovated and is plenty good enough.

Yeah, I was thinking about which team would go to the East and Minnesota makes a lot of sense. But the Pelicans honestly do too. Louisiana is technically in the South East with Texas starting the South West.

Minnesota just has nobody in the west even remotely near them. New Orleans and Memphis are both relatively close to other west teams in Texas/OKC

Minny makes the most sense to move to the East, just in terms of travel. If you look at the map, MIN is super close to MIL, CHI, DET and nowhere near any other West teams except maybe OKC, but even that's pretty far.

Yeah, good points. I was thinking of just cutting the U.S. in half, but travel makes sense. Though it isn't like the old days with all these charter flights in first class seats.

It makes more sense to go with 80. They've added a lot of playoff games over the years without shortening the season.

They went to 82 games in 1967 when the Sonics and Rockets joined the league, but there were only 3 playoff rounds and you only had to win 12 playoff games to win the title. (1967-68 had a total of 40 playoff games, 2025-26 had 105 playoff games)

I predict Jazz will be higher, maybe above us. Blazers and Wolves will crumble from poor chemistry issues. Houston or Nuggets will suffer from injuries.

IMO the Lakers and Warriors are both overrated. I think LAL will feel the loss of Lebron this year; his passing and scoring and just overall high level of play were really helpful for them, and though I mostly like the guys they acquired, I dunno if I like the overall roster in terms of defense, toughness, etc. And the Warriors continue their long slide into irrelevance; I really don't think they make the playoffs.

I think the Warriors are toast unless they make a big move…

I could see the Lakers being really good though if Luka is healthy. There’s not many guys in the league that you can just give them the ball and let them run everything, but Luka can. I’d be worried Kessler staying healthy, but if Luka and Kessler stay healthy, I think they are a 50 win team.
