In fact, I'd lean towards less than 35.
I'd take the same bet with any coach.
We were only on pace for 31 games before Bledsoe went down.

Anyone find it odd that The Undefeated is finally about to launch (an ESPN website devoted to covering race in sports culture) and the first preview piece they publish is about Kobe but written by Ramona Shelburne? I like Ramona, but um... she's not a picture of racial diversity. I'd much rather see what Jason Whitlock could have done with the site, but apparently he sucks at the business side of things and was kicked off the project by the head ESPN guys.
Anyway, here's the article if you're not sick of reading Kobe shit by now:

A five year deal. The T-wolves should be near the top of the league by the end of that contract.

And bringing in Spurs assistant as GM.

If he can keep the team on his side that long. I am not sure he is best for a very young team. I see a huge growth over the next 2 to 3 seasons, then lots of the same things that happened in Chicago.

Love that hire for Minny, except I don't like the idea of hiring a guy to be both the coach and the GM / VP of basketball ops. Coaches shouldn't be doing scouting or trades themselves.

He won't though. He is hiring Scott Layden from San Antonio to be his GM.

Is that the same Layden that helped run the Knicks into the ground in the late 90's?

kind of. He was GM for 4 years (until 2003), and then Isaiah Thomas took over.

Yeesh. Not sure I'd be excited about that hire, SA connections or not.

He's the son of the great Frank Layden of Jazz fame.

I think he's great mostly for his sense of humor if that helps.

Man, Thibs is getting huge money to coach Minny. $8 mil a year! It will be interesting to see how that young team responds to him. I also wonder if he learned from his previous coaching experience. Much like Scott Skiles who learned to relax his intense ways and not burn out his teams.

What's the most a coach has made under Sarver? I want to say $2.5M/yr? It's actually not easy to find contract numbers for past coaches. As far as current coaches, $8M/yr would put him below Pop ($11M) and Doc ($10M) and above Carlisle ($7M) and SVG ($7M.)
Hornacek was at the bottom of the list making $2M/yr. I don't know what Watson is making, only that it is a 3-year deal and probably around the same as what Hornacek was making. You get what you pay for.

D'Antoni's contract at the time he signed with the Knichs was around 4.5M per. NYK gave him 4/24.

That would put him at the lower 1/2 of the league right now. Not sure about back then.
