NBA Finals discussion
Re: NBA Finals discussion
Blatant and obvious attempt by the league to make this a longer series. They have a ton of money at stake in the Finals going 6 or 7 games. But a really lame decision.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
Just watched it AGAIN and finally see where the possible groin contact comes into play. It's at the tail end AFTER Green stands up underneath James. He flicks his wrist toward James and makes possible contact.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
He took a deliberate shot at the nuts. Wasn't overt but it was a genuine reaction to James stepping over him.. I partly blame the refs because they allowed physical play to get out of hand and don't call fouls when they should. Draymond set an aggressive, moving screen on James, James pushed off and jumped over the screen and then Draymond basically pushed and hip checked him out of the way. That's two fouls on Draymond that should have been called (and allowed the situation to de-escalate). But they let it go, James pushed Green off, who flops on the ground and sprawls out completely to try and keep LeBron out of the play. That's when James steps over Green and things get ugly.
Everything was initiated by Green, and this is coming from someone who was a huge fan of his coming out of MSU and have been really rooting for him up until this season. He's pretty much out of control and what bothers me is that this seems to be because of his success.

Re: NBA Finals discussion
That's not what I see. I see a frustrated Lebron take down Green. He put his foot behind Green's leg and then swiped back at him, causing him to fall, and then as if that wasn't bad enough, decided to walk over him. Let's put it this way, if his name was Raja Bell, he'd have been suspended for the next game. I don't have a problem with Green being punished, more so for his record than this one incident. But He's damn right that Lebron is a lil b#@ch.

Me thinks the Warriors win tonight with Harrison Barnes stepping up with masterful performance. McDonough and crew will point to said performance as justification for the Suns giving Barnes a max contract this summer.

A Shitty game by Barnes.
He had a chance to a knight in shinning armor. He shit the bed.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
Man are they letting some rough stuff go. They definitely call games different during the playoffs and especially the Finals. I kind of thought it was cool because it shut down the floppers in the series and made the games flow better but, I think games start getting rougher and you start getting more potential for escalation from all the pummeling. There isn't a different rule book for the playoffs is there?
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
Whatever GM signs Barnes to that big contract this summer will find himself out of a job in 2 seasons. Just shows he's not the guy you build around.
Also, Kevin Love. Wowie. Alot of teams dodged a bullet there. 110 million for that?

Re: NBA Finals discussion
If Barnes shot near 40%, the Warriors would a least be in the game at the end. He missed wide open shots at least 5 times.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
Barnes kind of reminds me a little of how Joe Johnson played prior to the '04-'05 season where he blew up. I thought he was way too inconsistent, but I would have still given him $50 mil.

Re: NBA Finals discussion
Wow, Barnes was 2-14. Horrible! If he even shot decently, the Warriors probably would have won that game. I lost track of the number of times they dished it out to him for a wide-open 3 or jumper and he clanged it off the rim. What a bum.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
I still think Kevin Love is redeemable. He's just on the wrong team and has been emasculated. I would welcome him here.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
We're not going to be a contender any time soon. I'd rather build with players under reasonable contracts than gamble on a max player in the hope he can be "redeemed."

I'm with Cap re: Love.
Costs too much, gets hurt frequently and seems like a lone wolf.

Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Bum ass. Him and Ray Felton should play on the same team.
Re: NBA Finals discussion
LeBatard was talking about how terrible he was last night. I don't recall this but he turned down $16M/yr from Golden State. He couldn't even score on mismatches with Tristan Thompson.

Re: NBA Finals discussion
He's the worst kind of small forward, not athletic and doesn't have good enough handles to dribble by anybody, but not big/strong enough to power over/through anybody or get a lot of rebounds. Best attribute seems to be his shooting, but he chokes under pressure and his shot seems to leave him frequently when you need it the most. He's a bum.
