Brea really needs to show something in this final game.
Darius Brown II has been solid. JaVonte Cook also has been good in stretches.
Not that the Suns should sign either of them, but the fact Brea has been outdone by both is disappointing.

I'm partial to Darius Brown just for his distribution ability.
The pathway to Brea being a contributor for this team never seemed like it was there, even if he did play well. I get shooting is a commodity and the Suns were looking for a 2nd rounder that would agree to a 2-way deal, but essentially being a poor-man's clone of Devin Booker, being relatively old, and not offering anything other than shooting, always seemed like a pick that had very limited utility for this team.
Ultimately, I'm indifferent as to what they do with him. I think there are more useful players they could have on a 2-way. But maybe Brea finds his shot and can deliver elite 3-point shot-making eventually.

It looks like even with all the headline guys out, Brea still didn't have much impact in this latest SL game. 6 points on 2-5 shooting (1-4 from 3) along with 3 assists. Javonte Cooke had a lot more impact and better SL overall. IMO it may be time to cut Brea loose.

He tied for the fewest points for starters and then two bench players outscored him as well. Not looking good for young Brea. He's looking like a rare miss for the Suns' scouting department in the Ishbia years.

I didn't hate the Brea pick at the time. A lot of picks down in his range don't pan out, and he was regarded as one of the best shooters in that draft. I almost never hate picking a shooter; it's a skill that can translate extremely well to the pro game. In this case it doesn't seem like he brought his shot with him. He hasn't shot very well in G-League or SL play. And if that's his headline skill, well, he isn't contributing very much. I want the guy to succeed, but I think he's about out of chances to prove himself in the NBA.

Just release him from the 2-way but see if he still wants to stay with with the G League affiliate.
