He looked pretty raw in the summer league if i recall correctly.

Definitely. I think he'll need a year or two overseas before he is NBA-ready.

I TOTALLY forgot about him! Good question.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

He barely looked like a basketball player in Summer League. It was just too fast for him. Long ways to go, but if he ever can stroke it like he did in college in the pros there will be a place for him somewhere.
Go Suns!

Wow Indy, that series of posts was GREAT. Fantastic job transcribing the call and letting us in on the news and gossip.

Thanks. I'm still bothered by not transcribing it all very well. I should have recorded it. And I didn't do a good job of working my own commentary in.

Well trust me, it was a riveting read and was totally just fine in terms of readability and quality of information. Great to have a source on the "inside."

Interesting stat from Coro's talk with the folks over on KTAR today. The Suns, 33 technicals as a team. The Spurs, 3.
Go Suns!

Yup. We're #2 in the league in technicals. Guess which team is even more childish.

I am glad he said those things on live radio, and it wasn't just a statement from his publicist or the team.

It's nice to apologize afterwards, but I don't get where all this is coming from. It's not like the team is awful and losing, not like these guys aren't getting minutes they feel they should be. What's there to be angry about? What's with the attitude? Playing with a chip on your shoulder is one thing, but the techs and outbursts are completely unnecessary. I don't recall them doing this kind of stuff a year or two ago, so what's changed?

Brown shot very well in the NBA combine, but did poor to mediocre in most other categories. He's rail thin with narrow shoulders -- think Zarko Cabarkapa but two inches taller. He had shoulder surgery in the summer and was expected to start playing in Europe in November. He'll probably need at least a couple of years playing full time elsewhere (overseas, D League) and a concerted effort of hitting the weights and getting basketball-fit.

UPDATE:

In December, Brown said he plans to join Bakersfield in the D League sometime in February. He had earlier indicated playing in Spain, but will now stay stateside.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

How does the surgery and rehab process work for a draft pick that wasn't signed? Is he on his own to work it out and get to the point of being able to play for the D league?

I just wonder what kinda of resources are available to those guys.
