Nope. That was measured and intentional.

Smith has only been suspended two games. That's weak. Olynyk one game.

Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith has been suspended two games by the NBA, the league announced on Monday. The suspensions comes as punishment for an elbow that Smith delivered to the head of Celtics forward Jae Crowder during the third quarter of the Cavaliers' Game 4 win in Boston on Sunday. Smith was called for a flagrant foul 2 and was ejected. Crowder left the game and didn't return.

The league also suspended Kelly Olynynk one game for his role in the incident that dislocated Kevin Love's shoulder. Love has already been ruled out for the entirety of the second round with the injury. Cavs big man Kendrick Perkins was also fined $15K for his involvement in an incident during Game 4.

Lol. So wack. I liked Matt Barnes tweeting that he got a game for shoving a guy. The NBA picks and chooses.

What about a suspension as long as the time missed by the injured player?
Two weeks on a suit would give Olinyk time to think about his actions.

I really can't believe they only suspended him two games for that hit. It isn't often someone gets knocked out during a basketball game. Throw in the injury on top of it and man 2 games seems like a really weak reaction from the NBA.

One game for Olynyk is pretty crazy as well. I don't think he was as malicious as JR since it kinda came from something that is common in basketball. The holding grappling the bigs do out there. He took it way too far though. You can't pull WWF moves in the NBA.

Metta World Peace got 7 for his elbow on Harden. JR should have gotten 7 as well. I would have probably put Olynyk at 5 since so far there isn't a history of him doing these types of things.

Silver not doing a good job of protecting the players out there. He has basically said you can get away pretty light while purposefully injuring someone on the other team. It wouldn't shock me if we see even more big hits after this.

Milwaukee is not going gentle into that good night.

Good for them. I like seeing the Bulls win; I'm rooting for Wiz and Bulls in the East. But Milwaukee has a likable young team, Greek Freak is amazing, and I love me some Jared Dudley.

And, hate to say it, but I just keep bracing myself to hear that Rose tore his knee and is out for the rest of the playoffs. You know it is coming.

And what about the Nets tied up at 2-2 with Atlanta after Deron Williams turned back the clock with 35 points? Incredible

Brent Barry stole my Dylan Thomas quote, but he was talking about Portland and messed it up, saying Portland would not "go quietly into that good night."

The fans sitting behind Kevin Calabro and Brent Barry are looking very depressed, despite a 7-point lead.

re the hawks, the 93 suns were even under more pressure after going down 0-2 at home vs the lakers first round.

Hawks are being the Hawks. The Nets aren't good but are dangerous.

I wonder if the League's disciplinary action is dictated by the playoffs. Like, would JRs suspension have been longer in the regular season but because it's the playoffs, they cut it down figuring the impact would be just as great? Like would he have gotten 5 games in a (more or less) meaningless regular season as opposed to 5 games in the playoffs which could legitimately change the series? Are the 2 games he's missing deemed as impactful as 5 regular season games?

I'm sure that was part of the decision. I'm just really shocked at Olynyk's punishment. Talk about a slap on the wrist.

I think JR's punishment is being influenced by the LeBron effect. The league doesn't want to do anything that hurts his chances.

It's because you guys think it was intentional. Most don't.

I wouldn't say most. I'd say the league did but I listened to some talk radio and a lot thought it was an intent to injure.
