I agree with your rant. I hope that I'm not too much of a homer and gloss over our guys weaknesses, because I know I do sometimes. I'm with OE32. Bender is good at switching and keeping a smaller guy from driving, good at contesting shots on the perimeter, has good timing when going for a block, and he knows when to body up and when to back off. Overall, he played great defense for the youngest rookie in the league.
I'm not trying to be difficult, but great means great. I am glad we all have high expectations for the kid, but if you ask 100 professional NBA talent evaluaters to list all great defenders in the league, not one of them would put him on the list.

Ha! I didn't mean that he is an under-performer. He is doing exactly what we hoped he would do as a rookie that has yet to play a regular season minute of basketball. PHOENIX -- The Suns have signed 6-foot-10 Frenchman Tidjan Keita.
The 20-year-old forward from Paris, with a 7-3 wingspan, was not selected this year after declaring for the draft. He took part in a pre-draft workout with the Suns this year and played for the Toronto Raptors at this year's Las Vegas Summer League.
The addition leaves the Suns with 19 players on their roster. They open their season Wednesday night at home against the Portland Trail Blazers.
