Yep, I've been saying for years they should arrange the Hakeem offseason training for him.
You mean HE should arrange offseason training with Hakeem. Nobody is telling stars in this league they need to train with so-and-so over their summer. The stars do that on their own.

If Ayton signs it, they have to match it. There’s no middle ground.
We could still get KD, but it would definitely mean Mikal goes and likely Cam too.

I’m pretty sure Amare trained with Hakeem and it was pretty useless. He never developed much of a post game.

Yep. How ironic would it be for DA to be here next year and the Twins gone?

If it's good enough for Len, it's good enough for Ayton.

How is it that this is "largest offer sheet in NBA history"? Is it just because salaries have increased over the years?

Report: Suns expected to match Deandre Ayton max offer sheet
https://sports.yahoo.com/report-suns-ex ... 15300.html
However, the Suns have indicated they don’t value Ayton at this amount. So, barring an unexpected development, what comes after Phoenix matches? Obviously, there will be attempts to get Ayton to mature. Trade watch would also commence.
If everyone is absolutely convinced the Suns will match, he might ultimately just sign directly with them. That’d allow him and Phoenix to structure his contract as they wish and avoid trade restrictions that come with a matched offer sheet. Indiana would avoid whatever moves are necessary to max clear cap space and having its cap space tied up for the 48-hour matching period.

It's what I've been pushing for (reluctantly willing to give up Mikal and CamJ).
Paul/Booker/Crowder/Durant/Ayton
Payne/Biyombo/Okogie/Lee/Landale/FA signings?
Is that a championship team?

Just call Hakeem Olajuwon and all of Ayton's problems are solved! Wow, why did no one else think of that?
Com'on guys. Damn near the entire league pays for a workout with Olajuwon, and have you seen anyone replicate what he did as a player? Maybe it's not just some footwork drills that make the difference between good and legendary.

Yes. There honestly aren't a lot of RFA offers made for salaries even close to a max.

I have no idea what to think right now except that I'm still not valuing much of anything from Gambo.

Basically summarizes his entire 30(?) year radio career.

To have an impact, it needs to be someone he might respect that won't coddle him...that's why I think Barkley is the right person...that might have an impact. Anybody that knows about Barkley's first day in training with the Sun's would get that...

You have to match this. It sets us at minimum with the chance to run back last year's team. And still with the potential to trade for KD. Now we have to hope BKN will take a package centered around Mikal, CamJ, and picks. Bye bye Mikal, I will miss you buddy.
I wonder if the next headline will be, "Ayton reportedly asks Suns not to match Pacers offer." If he does that, I bet they don't match. "We don't want to force somebody to be here who doesn't want to play here," etc.

Yeah but Sarver already did that when Joe Johnson asked him not to match. And he's never lived it down.

Over/under on hours until Suns match?

it would be hilarious to see them match immediately after Indy had to waive and stretch players just to offer it to him. But the smart thing business wise would be to wait the full time so you keep their cap space tied up. (But then again, nobody is out there worth it).
