While Whiteside is a great story, the Heat-Mavs first half may have been some of the ugliest basketball I have seen in years. Up and down, helter-skelter, brick city. Treys, mid-range jumpers, layups, nothing was falling except shooting percentages.

Scott Skiles? Mark Jackson? Oof. Orlando, have fun with that.

Skiles played there, so that sort of make sense.
Not a huge fan of either, but Jackson or Skiles would be a couple of steps up the rung from Vaughn.

LILLARD CALLS ALL-STAR SNUB ‘DISRESPECT’

Poor, baby. Talk to Dragic about last year.

I highly doubt he is going to leave mid season.

Which makes it all the weirder if they do a coaching change in mid-year. Only retreads and losers are just sitting around in Jan/Feb looking for NBA head coaching jobs.

BTW, didn't Scott Skiles have 30 assists in a game as a member of the Magic?

By the way, I know others here have mentioned it, but the Hawks are on an 18-game winning streak. Wow. The link below shows their schedule and game log. I wonder when they'll lose their next game? Their next 5 games pit them against Philly, then New Orleans, then Washington, then the Warriors, then Memphis. I don't think they'll win all 5 of those.

http://espn.go.com/nba/team/schedule/_/ ... anta-hawks

If they win 2-3 more games, as I would expect, their current winning streak will be one of the top 4-5 longest of all time in NBA history!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Na ... ng_streaks

That's just crazy. Side note: The 2012-13 Heat had a 27-game winning streak, the second-longest one ever. The 2013-14 Spurs had a 19-game winning streak, tied for the 6th-longest ever. Both teams won titles those years. Just saying.

(Also, our own 2006-07 Suns won 17 in a row back in the day, if you've forgotten. :-) )

I wasn't implying he would. I was thinking next season.

Lillards a legit star who should've made it. The league should be pumping him up hard and they're not.

I'm surprised they chose Boogie Cousins for ASG when DeMarcus has been such a bad boy in general. You'd think they would want to reward the good guy from PDX.

Early this season, Cousins was the best center on the planet until he got sick and then they canned his coach. His numbers are still excellent, even though his defense has dropped off.

Better player at a shallower position (although being a C no longer matters for some asinine reason) I'm glad Cousins made it over Lillard. He's a better player with better numbers.

Bah, everyone knows Skiles track record: No nonsense approach, gets a few extra wins initially, then players get tired of him after the 2nd season or so. The Bucks were insanely boring to watch when he coached there.

There are probably 16-18 legit All-Stars in the West, so someone is going to be left off. And at the point guard position, there is no margin for error; Lillard has been mired a month long slump where his shooting (and defense) has been absolutely atrocious.
