He's actually not playing terribly. He's tied his career high in points at 15.1ppg. He's also averaging a career best in FT and 3P %. His overall FG% has dipped a bit but that's probably because he's a main option in Orlando instead of a 3rd option in OKC. I'm surprised that he didn't even last 1 season with the Magic. It looks like the are going the full rebuild route so I would cross them off as trading partners for Bledsoe/Knight.Ring_Wanted wrote:Probably not, but if you can extract three good years out of him you did ok.

A shockingly bad series of moves for Hennigan.

Terribly? This is a great pick up by the Raptors, leaving money aside. Probably not going to get them past LeBron but they are showing they mean business and they still have the ammo to pull another move. Around 11M in expirings, some prospects and picks to deal for one more win now piece.carey wrote:He's actually not playing terribly. He's tied his career high in points at 15.1ppg. Orlando cuts its loses and supposedly goes back to rebuilding so yeah, Knight there is not an option, although you never know. Hennigan was having a nice tenure as their GM until this season.

No not really. Just seemed like a lopsided trade in Toronto's favor. Was hoping to take advantage of some desperate GM's this year.Hermen wrote:You want Ibaka here?djy2j wrote:GET OFF YOUR DUFF MCDONOUGH! It's trade season dum dum. Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
He's an unrestricted FA this off-season. Hard to get much for those guys, although I thought they'd get a little more than Ross and a late 1st. Ibaka is a nice fit for Toronto.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
It feels like every other team is making moves except for the Suns.
I hope they didn't extend McDonough. If he stands pat at the trade deadline then no reason to bring him back next year. If his contract doesn't expire then fire him.
He seems to wait till he has a disgruntled player before he makes a move. I'm guessing that he's waiting on Knight to talk crap about the Suns before he does something.

There's only been two real trades so far. Things will heat up once the all star break starts
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
Still have 9 days left. Let's stay calm and not panic...yet.

Even if we stand pat we're gonna be in the top 3 as far as lottery odds go, so I'm not THAT worried about it.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
Watch out for Orlando. They sent off Ibaka and might do some full blown tanking. They're the only team besides Lakers who might catch us. Philly and Minny are the only other teams less than 5 games ahead of us, and they both have a 4.5 game lead over us with 26-27 to play.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Even if we stand pat we're gonna be in the top 3 as far as lottery odds go, so I'm not THAT worried about it.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
I think Orlando might improve with getting Gordon at his natural spot and adding some offense from Ross at the 3. They seem like they'll be more balanced. I dont see us getting hot and winning many more games the rest of the way out, maybe 5 or 6.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
I don't agree with that at all. They got a late 1st rounder for a player that had an insanely high PER. It was ridiculous what Thomas was doing in limited minutes that year. I didn't think it was an awful trade, but I hardly was impressed with what we got for him.Indy wrote: And despite how he has blown up in Boston, that was a very good deal Ryan made, signing him for peanuts and getting a 1st for him.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
Your probably the only one in the entire world who thinks that. Even McD himself has come out and said that he screwed up big time on that trade.Indy wrote: And despite how he has blown up in Boston, that was a very good deal Ryan made, signing him for peanuts and getting a 1st for him.
A late 1st rd pick which has zero value isn't what you should be getting for the player who is top 5 in the MVP race and a 2 time All Star now.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
I agree that we should have gotten more, but it's all in retrospect. He was not an MVP candidate or an all star when we traded him. It's unfair to compare the trade based on IT's current value.UglyTruth wrote:Your probably the only one in the entire world who thinks that. Yeah but its McD's job to evaluate players projection and progression and get it right.Split T wrote:I agree that we should have gotten more, but it's all in retrospect. Just like how its GMs job to project draft prospects and see how they'll do in the future, its also these GMs job to do that for NBA players. That's why they make millions of dollars while us fans are stuck doing our 9-5.
Re: Around the League: Week 16 2/6 - 2/12
That's fair. It would have been nice if McD could have projected IT's growth, but he wasn't exactly an untapped potential kind of guy. I don't think anyone was expecting IT to make the leap he did.
