And don't forget the complaining. (The Morris twins learned well from them.)

Doc Rivers annoys me as well.

Speaking of the Cliipers, they lost by 14 at home today to the Heat.

Did you catch Pau Gasol's career night? 46 points, 18 rebounds. Brutal.
The Bulls added an all NBA center for $7M per.

i would have given him a 12 mil one year deal if the suns traded for him last season to give both camps an out if things did not go well.

I had no idea he had that left in the tank. Pretty interesting.

Great players, as they age, are able to put together great games, but not as often as when they were younger. It will be interesting to see of Gasol can continue to do this on a regular basis.
No regrets about not trading for him. If we had, he would still be doing this on the Chicago roster today. No way he would have stayed.

On a regular basis? He's been sensational all season long.

That's a silly statement to make. Gasol isn't a big market or bust kind of guy. He's not worried about his brand or anything like that. If the Suns had acquired and he played well here, they would have had a good of a chance as anyone of having him for the 2014-15 season.

I agree with INF. SDC says a lot of zany things, but he is right that if we could have gotten Pau for a reasonable price last year, it would have turned out to be a great acquisition.

If getting Gasol was about the Minny pick, the FO droped the ball. But I suspect that Lakers were asking for their pick back or our own, with the first being a big "NO F'ING WAY", and the second a risky proposition for a rental.
I would have send it, thinking on getting a step ahead of the pack to recruit him long term with our medical staff as spearhead, but I understand the approach about not wasting an asset on a short term fix.

We would have had no guarantees from Gasol. He would have hit the open market with no ties whatsoever to the Suns. If we were interested in getting Gasol, the time to do it would have been in free agency last summer. There was no point at all in giving up an asset for a 2 month rental when it would not have increased the chances of signing him in free agency one spec.

Of course no guarantees, but I wouldn't go as far as "not increasing our chances". Two months under our training staff's care matters, becoming the missing piece in our quest for a playoff spot and actually getting there matters, and a first round series win, or at least well fought defeat matters as well. I think we could had seen earlier a rejuvenated Gasol around here, and that matters.

How do you figure that? If Gasol had been acquired during the season, played well and enjoyed playing here, how does that not increase the Suns chances of retaining him?

Gasol has said one of the big factors in where he chose to play was the culture (plays, orchestras, etc) of the city. Another was the chance to compete for a Championship.
"I'm not happy just playing basketball. I have other interests and other wishes. Chicago had a lot to offer in that regard. I'm culturally very interested, so I'm sure that side of me is going to be fulfilled here in a big way."

No disrespect the city or the franchise, but I don't think he was getting either by coming here.

It's not lip service. He told that to Kevin Durant during his FA meeting with OKC - before he signed in Chicago.

Yeah, I say things like that all the time to prospects -pointing out their minus- in order to get a better deal. Durant was naive enough to actually believe it.
He probably had a list of "concerns" for every city he visited.
