That's a silly statement to make. Gasol isn't a big market or bust kind of guy. He's not worried about his brand or anything like that. If the Suns had acquired and he played well here, they would have had a good of a chance as anyone of having him for the 2014-15 season.No regrets about not trading for him. If we had, he would still be doing this on the Chicago roster today. No way he would have stayed.
Of course no guarantees, but I wouldn't go as far as "not increasing our chances". Two months under our training staff's care matters, becoming the missing piece in our quest for a playoff spot and actually getting there matters, and a first round series win, or at least well fought defeat matters as well.
