Lots of movement and not a peep about the Suns. Hopefully it picks up or this season is going to get even more depressing. Can you imagine having to listen to Coach praise Markieff all season long?

Gambo just sumed up the basic difference between Jerry and Sarver ala Horry and Morris towel throwing situations. Said Ainge went to Jerry pleading to keep Horry and Jerry said no, he disrespected the you, me, the team, the fans, the city etc and he's gone, Ainge said, no he's a good player we can make it work, Jerry - He's being traded, and was 5 days later.
stark comparison to the current ownership of , imagine back then making Horry the official leader of the team, firing Ainge and telling the fans to embrace and show love and compassion to Horry.

.... there would have been riots, but we also cared about the team 1000% more back then, Sarver has eroded that to about 10% now.

Memphis trades Courtney Lee to Charlotte. Don't really understand this deal for the Grizz. I guess they wanted another big body with Gasol out.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--h ... 35159.html
The Charlotte Hornets are acquiring guard Courtney Lee from the Memphis Grizzlies, who are getting center Chris Andersen from the Miami Heat, as part of a three-team, four-player trade, league sources told The Vertical.
The Hornets are sending point guard Brian Roberts to the Heat and swingman P.J. Hairston to the Grizzlies, who are also receiving a pair of second-rounds picks each from both the Heat and Hornets.

One of the Heat’s second-round picks going to Memphis is heavily protected. The deal also is a significant cost-saving move for Miami.

Is Gay past his prime yet? He is? OK, we can get him then.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I think the Orlando trade is interesting. Read the ESPN analysis on it, and some of it may be a salary dump play. Definitely interesting that Orlando is moving on from Harris so soon, but maybe SVG can make it work. Harris has regressed a bit from last year, but part of that may be the rotation that Skiles has been putting out there. The team needs more perimeter shooting and basically nobody from that rotation brings it on a consistent basis. I'm not sure if Jennings is in their long term plans, though I could see them keeping Ilyasova if he doesn't command over 10 mil in the summer of craziness. The ESPN piece says that with this move the Magic have potentially 40 mil to work with this summer.

For Detroit this makes some sense, since they acquire a potential building block who is in the same point in his growth curve as their other two primary pieces in Jackson and Drummond (and I guess Stanley Johnson belongs in that discussion). They sacrifice a bit of their summer cap space, which is down to 14 mil, and add a guy who might have commanded a max from some mediocre team had he been a free agent this coming summer, which is not a bad move considering Detroit is not a hot destination.

After the trade though I think Detroit is potentially in a better place, whereas Orlando, other than freeing up minutes for Gordon, hasn't done much to solve their back court issues. None of Oladipo/Jennings/Payton can shoot. I wouldn't be shocked if a Knight trade might still be on the table, as both Oladipo and Payton have the size to cover up some Knight's defensive problems (though Payton wasn't a net positive defender last time I checked) while Knight definitely helps with spacing. If we sent, say, Knight and something for Oladipo/Frye, I wouldn't be too upset. I thought Oladipo was due for an extension this summer, but if he isn't up for another 1.5 years as some have pointed out in this thread, then I'd take that chance right now.

Winslow+pick. For Chandler-PJ. Was you friend high ahhaha.

Agreed on Knight for Rubio. Trading Bledsoe would be imperative then. But I really like the idea of an elite passer feeding the kids and Chandler. Then again, what if we made such a big move and then the draft forces us to take Dunn? More problems.
I was pretty much thinking the same. If the pick came out of the Suns, maybe... but even then, I can't really believe this. We are talking about Tyson Chandler, right? The 33 year old big man who is (in my opinion) still a serviceable rebounder and defender at the rim but whose offensive game has clearly declined? He is not going to solve Miami's problems, and the only reason I can see them taking on his contract is to give up on the current core and get back one of the draft picks they gave up for Dragic. Winslow was projected to be a top five pick from last year, and so far he has proven to be exactly what everyone thought him to be, an athletic and physical defender whose offense needs more polish. But he hasn't disappointed anyone and has nowhere to go but up. Given Bosh and Wade's health issues, that team is done. Unless they can amnesty Bosh right now and give Wade one last longer (but smaller) contract so they have some flexibility to recenter around Dragic and Whiteside, I would say they will be bottom dwellers for the next 3 years and their next resurrection will surely be headlined by Winslow and whatever comes in the draft until 2018/19. Here's hoping that they continue to suck so that pick will bring us some value.

I find it curious that Its been quiet the past 2 days on the Cleveland front. It's obvious their "all in" and it's also obvious that based on the current construction of their team they aren't built to beat Golden State. I'll be stunned if they stand pat. Also Boston, who was rumored in almost every trade, has yet to do anything or be even close to doing anything.

I think there is still alot of jockeying left to do between now and Thursdays deadline.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

I still don't really like Orlando's roster. They have all these athletes, but most of them aren't good shooters. How do you win with a roster like that in 2016?

I think we won that trade. Dragic undeniably got overpaid. I root for Goran and wish him the best, but he seems to have peaked and with DWade on the decline, Bosh maybe done for good, and Whiteside set to become an FA they have some retooling to do or those picks will be mid 1st-lotto picks.

The pieces don't fit together quite yet, but the talent on that roster is undeniable. They have done a real nice job of drafting. Their FA signings...not so much.

I agree. He literally picked his team and said he wouldn't re-sign here. What leverage did we have? We certainly screwed the pooch with the other moves, but we won that one.

I third this notion. Given the way Dragic put the team on the spot, we did really well to score two essentially unprotected first rounders far enough into the future when Miami might start to fall in the standings.

Dragic is still a great talent, but his fit in Miami is pretty awful.
