Neither Monty nor Ayton did anything wrong in that exchange. They got heated, but for one I am glad to see Ayton be fired up about something. The Twitter clown saying Monty lost control of his emotions is being silly. He is acting like Monty squared up on Ayton or threw something.

I appreciate Gerald Bourguet pointing out how people are just going to manipulate the situation to feed their own narrative.

Yeah, shit is overblown. That was nothing compared to Jimmy Butler challenging Spoelstra to fist fight in the middle of a game last year lol

Monty seems like the I'm not mad I'm just disappointed type, while Ayton being a softy doesn't understand why people are disappointed in him.

And I'm sure you saw how Barkley ran with it on TNT in front of a national audience. Everybody is looking for controversy where there isn't any. Chuck had no idea what he was talking about.

It was good. Doesn’t look like anything disrespectful. Just a frustrated team bantering.

The biggest issue in that whole situation is our max player not knowing how to run the play at the end of the game.

But VagMaster23460348 and D&DIncel69420 said it was Monty's fault.

The biggest issue is not running a play for our max player who was having one of the best games of his career, and instead running it for Bridges who was having a terrible game.

It was inevitable, especially once CP3 got injured, that we would lose when we go away from our best player down the stretch. Ayton had 1 field goal attempt in the last 6 minutes. He missed one shot when we were still up 2 and we refused to go to him at all for the final 3 minutes.

Ayton doesn’t start any plays…so it very well could have been designed to get to Ayton eventually, but that’s the life of being a dependent player. He’s dependent on the ball handlers and on how the defense plays. If he was able to initiate plays on his own, we could actually go to him when it mattered much easier.

As usual, what matters most is how they respond to it. But unfortunately we have 3 really tough games in a row, so I think we are in for some more losses.

Owning up to your part of a failure is what a mature person does.

Everyone handled it pretty maturely…well except a portion of the media

I am so glad both Ayton and Bridges spoke publicly and addressed this. It makes the weaponizing this incident against Monty even sillier than it initially looked.
