It’s nice to see you again v9. I, YGR, am from Okinawa, Japan. You were always nice to me. Thank you. I think I gave you and other moderators unpleasant time when almost end of your moderator and I am sorry. I wanted apologized to you that time but you were already gone. I think the one of the reasons you left the old site of moderator was because of me. If it was I am very sorry. You and all other moderators were doing great job.

Look - you witnessed the shit Andy pulled on me on the old board, going as far as deleting my posts regardless of content. I'm not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt should he be made a mod here (though Mori hasn't indicated anything of the sort - I can only pray that he doesn't, ever).

But, I figure he'll likely lurk the majority of the time anyways - the last year or two he was at the original board, he did little else but troll the Politics folder.....

And I disagree. I can easily tolerate some things. Tolerance isn't know for awful things. Just things you don't agree with.

I've been trying not to post here because it never goes well, and there is still a bad taste in my mouth from times past. I had to address this point, though. The problem comes with - what, or who defines the difference between awful, and things you don't agree with? Who decides where the moral compass lies? Yeah, there reaches a point where its just so evil that everyone agrees, but before that point, there is a lot of *giant* gray area where people need to be allowed to make their own personal judgement calls on their own feelings and philosophies, and there needs to be a point where that is OK, and that we all just agree to disagree.

in the end, how can you know what is "ok" to tolerate and what "isn't" ? who is so superior that it can *define* that spectrum for an entire species, race or nationality? when you attach an arbitrarily chosen moral compass to it.... it seems to almost defeat the point of tolerating something.

Tolerance needs to be as neutral at possible or it is pointless and becomes more like the politically correct code that seems to be enforced these days. individuality should be the most *celebrated* part of us ALL and bring out the biggest variety and ranges of outcomes. I am not you, and I do not have to agree with you, but we should all be able to agree that is okay and our individual perogative.

In the case of Cubby, most of that stuff was terrible and worthy of being banned, 10, 15 years ago. Thats not what got him ran off now, when he wasn't given the benefit of the doubt, or more of a 2 day chance in general from anyone. I've always been at the very least supportive of a thread in the general section with an Enter at your own Risk type attitude where he would be allowed to engage those who did. He's pretty harmless these days over on spurstalk, and as Laz said, is oddly entertaining.

Some people will never like him, and thats fine (this isn't directed at anyone in particular!)... thats awesome, good for you. But just say, I don't like him because he's an Asshole and keep it real, because by definition, its not an issue of tolerance.

Anyway, I think what you and I are referring to as "tolerance" are two different things. I am talking about tolerance with a little t. You are talking about Tolerance with a big T.

If anyone is ever made a mod but abuses the mod powers, then the other mods and I will discuss it, and if we feel it's gone too far, we'll remove that mod. We have already done this in the past. But I think anything anybody did at the old site is water under the bridge. New site, new management, new rules. We'll try to keep everybody accountable.

Andy S is more than welcome here. Just like SwingMan and everybody else. If anybody causes problems, we deal with it and we move on.

I just want a low-drama, friendly, happy Suns fan site. If people are being abusive or being jerks, I'll talk to them or put a stop to it or whatever needs to be done.

Didn't mean to start anything. Was just excited to see everybody and remembered I had an old email of Andy S and thought I would let him know about the new place. I soon learned he was already here with a different name and that you are still really mad at him Swingman.

The some things never change comment just means somebody is always fighting with somebody over trivial stuff around here no matter who is hosting it.

I was so excited to find this place and see all the old names posting again. Brought back a lot of Suns history. When it comes to Suns, most of us are great friends.

Let me just say this. My favorite part of phxsuns.net after awhile under sose became the political folder. I became addicted to fighting the political wars that went on there. Unfortunately the political folder claimed a few members I believe. Dan H and I used to battle there all the time. I think he got pissed off or frustrated or whatever and quit the site over something and I always felt partly responsible for that. The whole Swingman/Andy S thing started in the politics folder and bled into everywhere else. Sose banned the politics folder and I was pretty upset. I had stopped posting in the Suns sections and then the politics section was banned. I pretty much stopped posting for a long time after that.

Don't get me wrong, I still follow politics, but I think it tries to divide us into two groups. Our group and the other evil crazy group. I glanced at some of the threads here and saw some political arguments going on and saw Dan H and thought, just like old times. Then I thought about how horrible these political arguments always go in the end. I thought about how cool it is when we all just talk basketball and don't know or care what the other guy you are talking to's political party is.

I was so tempted to join the discussion there, but I know it's poison to this site. I wouldn't suggest banning politics, but in today's world people get really worked up by it and it spills into basketball causing flame wars. I was mad that sose banned politics, but he may have been right.

Yep - and you piled right on with the hate towards me because of it, never mind that it was Andy who brought it to a head with his actions and the fact that I never had a single beef with you.

Hell, even Ladmo - of ALL people - questioned Andy's censorship acts towards me.

EDIT : And do you know HOW it bled into everywhere else? Because he deleted my posts OUTSIDE of that damn folder as well, again, regardless of content - it got to the point where he deleted every post he saw of mine.
