I think he did see it and is just saying that it wasn't very cleverly integrated with the NBA footage. It's just an NBA promo with Shia lazily pasted on top of it. They didn't integrate him in any way where he looks like he's actually interacting with the players or where they are reacting to him. By contrast, the spoof video with Shia motivating Luke Skywalker to use the Force is much better done, both in terms of effects quality and in terms of its smooth integration with the Empire Strikes Back footage.

It just seems like they took a normal promo and just threw in Shia. Pretty weak compared to some of the really good ones out there.

I take it you didn't see the Shia motivational speech thing that was floating around? It's weird. The dude is weird.

Na I didn't mean it was a weak promo. More that it was a weak Shia meme or whatever. There are some really great Shia videos out there using that footage.

There is a serious lack of logic and a disconnect with "reading comprehension" "logic" and "understanding human nature" in reading the comments of those posters.

Total rudeness to the guy bringing the news, too.
