Rondo's not a ball stopper.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:08 amThat Lakers roster is unconscionable. This is why most former star players (MJ, Magic, Lebron) shouldn't be GMs or be involved in player transactions. I think your comment is exactly right. They put the worst kind of roster around Lebron. I like the Javale signing, but ball-stoppers like B*****y or Lance or Rondo, just awful roster management. Sign a bunch of 3-and-D guys, for Pete's sake.INFORMER wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 8:42 pmIt's incredible that all of those head cases are on one roster.
Magic/Pelinka sound so clueless when they talk about how obvious it would have been to surround LeBron with shooters and innovative it is to surround him with ball dominant players (who by the can't shoot). Time will tell if they are on to something or on something.

Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
Beasley was pretty good last year. I know most on here will never be able to see that, since he was so abysmal in his stint with us, but he's a decent offensive spark off the bench.
I actually think the Lakers team can be pretty dang good. I think I'd start Ball/KCP/Ingram/Kuzma/LeBron or at least give that unit some decent run. LeBron as a small ball 5 is scary. Ingram/Ball/Rondo/Lance can all create and allow LeBron to play off the ball, which could also be scary. They sacrificed some shooting going after Rondo and Lance, but they won't be a poor shooting team. I think Ball will look better, and KCP, Hart, Ingram, Kuzma, and Beasley can all hit from 3.
The non LeBron portion of this team is better than the crap LeBron played with in Cleveland. After GS and Houston, LA is my next lock to make the playoffs out west.

Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
Rondo is s weird fit with with Ball and James, but he's the best of the extras. Rondo will be a very good fit with Kuzma, Ingram, Hart, and Pope. And he could make Beasley/Javale look ok.
I just think you want character / IQ / 3D guys instead of Beasley, Javale, Stephenson.

Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
It was a little strange to sign all 4, but javale played nicely in his role with the warriors. I already mentioned how Beasley played last year. Lance doesn't make much sense to me. Rondo is solid and isn't as incompetent as he once was as a shooter. I think he'll come off the bench, unless Ball really struggles early on.
Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
I think Beasley is an ok fit on the court. It's the locker room I'm worried about. Javale can look ok on a team that makes him look ok. The Lakers should have brought in someone who makes their young guys better, not someone who needs to be babysat on the court.
Lance isn't going to play, so why not bring in a solid character guy instead?

Agreed about Lance. I also think the Beasley and Javale narratives are old. Has there actually been any issues with either of them character wise in the last couple years?
Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason
I'm curious if LA offered DeMarcus the same deal GS did, or at least a similar one. How much did the each of the memesquad sign for?

Rondo is at 9 mil, the rest combine for about the same amount.

I guess I was wrong. Rondo it is. Probably Rondo/KCP/Ingram/LeBron/Javale with Ball/Hart/Lance/Beasley/Kuzma off the bench

Still on the Heat, right? Just went through all their media day photos and he was conspicuously missing. Is it that bad?
