Uhhh Bird wants to play faster and nags Vogel to change his system, ends up letting him go. Bird promotes McMillan, knowed( :P ) by his tough defense, slow offense and strong discipline. Not seeing it at all, might as well just kept the proven coach and franchise mainstay, but surely the Legend must know better.

Hahhah.

Aaand just because I love the best kind of correct, I'll say that he's been doing that the whole decade since we've been out of the playoffs since the 09-10 season. Yay!

You clearly need to lurk less and participate more on that side of the board!

Why in the world did they hire McMillan to instill an up-tempo system? His pace was like 29th in the league during his last coaching stops. It makes no sense.

There's a dangerous trend lately of front offices firing coaches who dare to have any opinions of their own, and putting in a lackey coach who will just do exactly as they say.

It is confounding. A leopard rarely changes its spots.

Amen

That falls directly on McDonough.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

This may not be a bad hire for them in all honesty. While not a huge McMillan fan he was pretty good in Seattle and has been on the Olympic teams as an assistant with Coach K and MDA. If the goal is to play up tempo why not just hire MDA and keep McMillan on the bench?

I just hope that the team Vogel ends up with has a fantastic year next season and beyond.

https://twitter.com/MarcJSpearsESPN/status/732211049944866817 KAT is the unanimous rookie of the year.

Booker got 40 3rd place votes and even some 2nd place votes.

Good for Booker! That seems about right. We should be happy and hopeful having the ~2nd-3rd best rookie from this class on our roster. He's a great guy and a great player. I hope we can keep him here for a long long time.

Like Curry, KAT unanimous is undisputable. Porzingod deserves #2 and maybe you could fight for Booker @3 instead of 4, but Jokic is sick and has the chops to become the best passing big man in the league and overall a terrific new age 5 on offense. So interested to see Denver develop him alongside Nurkic, and Lauvergne is a nice piece too. I have the impression that if Okafor played for a different team he'd been #3 at worst. The stigma is real for the 76rs.

Winslow is a tad too high for my taste. So timid offensively (can't believe people linked him to Harden (personally I say Iggy light). Would have put Turner before but I guess much like Booker, not being used right from the start hurt his status.

Did Nikola Jokic have a better season then Booker? I was surprised he was 3rd in R.O.Y. voting, but admit I am to lazy to look up stats. Both played for crappy trams so that shold have no bearing on it.

KAT and Zinger were obvious 1-2.

Big Frank Vogel guy. Think he got a raw deal in Indy. Wish we would of waited but what's done id done.

Probably, but not near as much as the Wooden clone.

How much is he getting anyway?

Oh, he's a Wooden clone now? This from the dude that didn't even know he had real interactions with him until you were called out on your nonsense.
